and no one bothers them..?
do they work one month, them home one month?
I've worked as a cook for Ingram Barge for 5 years and its the best thing I've ever done; and yes, I'm a woman-I started when I was 40 and I wish I had gone to work on the river years ago. I work 21 on/21 off; its hard to be away, but you get used to it, and you have to look at the Big picture and where you want to be when you're 60-do you still want to be scrapping a living out at a sawmill, then eating catfood on your social security? I personally want to be able to travel the United States in my winnebago!
The Towboat business is picking up again. Check out Marquett/Tennessee Valley Towing/Hunter Marine/Ardco Marine, just to name a few.

I am really looking for a river boat job and am signed up on a ton of hiring sites. I want Ingrams but they've had a hiring freeze since last fall. They had a hiring orientation in Winona a while back, and are having another one soon, but they weren't hiring then either. If ANYONE hears of a job of this type, please post here. ONE job came open on one of the boats and it was gone the same day. Thanks for the help!
