This is just awful.

DHEC needs to go to that one on Forest Drive, Heartland Nursing Facility, that is one of the worse. I think someone inside DHEC and Heartland work together to keep Heartland out of trouble.

If they frequent that place after 5:00pm and on the weekends they will see some stuff going on there. On the weekends no one is hardly around and some of the workers are lazy as he!l but that's during the weekdays too.

This makes no sense that it took at least a year to shut this abuse home down. Where are the families of these victims? If it had been one of my family members I would had removed them myself. If you visit family in nursing homes then you would know what exactly is going on. Adult abuse and child abuse is taking over our country.

I drive past that place into work everyday, and have often wondered about its credibility.

Sophiscated, that place doesn't have any credibility. You need to just go in there and act like you are looking for someone there and see for yourself. That place is horrible but DHEC will not do anything about it.

It's plenty of places like that! People that put their families in nursing homes and places like that need to make really frequent visits to those places. I have never mistreated any patient (even the ones that mistreat me) but I have seen plenty of nurses/nurses aids that give less than standard care to patients that never have any visitors or the ones with "predictable" visitors that come same time/same day every week or month. I have seen some things (and reported a lot of them) that would make your toes curl with disgust!

You ain't lying. Some of those nurses and I know those CNAs are just plain nasty to some of the patients at that Heartland Facility on Forest Drive.

The workers at that Heartland Facility on Forest Drive is a big joke. Walk in some of the rooms there and see how nasty they are. Like I said earlier I believe DHEC works hand in hand with Heartland that's why they are still in business.

I know this person that is trying to get their family member out of there right now. I told her to take pictures and maybe DHEC will believe the pictures since Heartland can do no wrong.

That place should have never been allowed to open in the first place! It's obvious the owner was only concerned about the money he made.

Majority of those places are about money, because it sure isn't the care of the patients. They don't care about those patients needs.

You should see the workers at that one on Forest Drive (Heartland) they try to act like they care so much when family members are around, but if no family is there it is a big azz joke. I go in there sometimes with my friend and some of the patients are there soak and wet and they take their time changing them.

I say that this place be reopened when the owner gets old and frail and he is made to live there under the same conditions these people were living under. This kind of thing makes me sick.

All these places are about money. The state should require DHEC make unannounced visits on an irregular schedule...However, there are spies within DHEC that give the homes a heads up. IMO the entire government body of SC is responsible for this happening. This place should have never opened in the first place because it didn't meet minimum standards-bathroom access was too small to accommodate a wheelchair.
The guy can pay a high priced lawyer, but can't pay essential bills such as phone and electric and medicines. Hmmm, makes you wonder. Life Care Center Of Columbia has problems as well imo, leaving a stroke victim alone in the room, and "call nurse" inaccessible. Only way to contact someone was when they passed by the door.

This is the saddest news. I frequently visit "nursing homes". Some of the people have no family members EVER visit them. They are just warehoused. The ones who do have family that they RARELY see.....(the ones who come on Easter, Mother's day, and Christmas) are sooo sad. Some family members come faithfully...BUT....WHO would ever entrust this HELL HOLE to care for a loved one?!? The guilty WILL PAY ..(and I DON"T mean MONETARILY!!!) for what they have done.
