I was going to vote for the sheriff's department tax until I read it was a never ending tax. I know taxes are generally renewed, however, each sheriff should prove his worth. I believe CJ has proved he can manage our money, but no way will I support a tax that doesn't expire!!!!!!!!

You have an important point. I will not vote for a "never ending tax" either.

Neither will I vote for a never ending tax. As the state struggles with 19.9%, poverty, it is the third poorest state, ahead of only Mississippi and New Mexico.

Neither will I vote for a property tax for the School Board to help with the Common Core curriculum. That is a plot for the federal government to take over our schools.

Why has there not been anything in the Winn Parish Enterprise about this tax? Is our newspaper editor not staying on top of current happenings in Winn Parish that affect our citizens? Hhhhhmmmmmmmm! Very interesting! Why is this not front page news? Maybe he is on board with our Sheriff that has placed this tax on the ballot, strategically, on an election date that has been predicted to have a low voter turnout.
interesting indeed

The editor seems to go overboard to protect those who advertise in the paper; it is the depository for legal notices and he gets paid well with our tax dollars. It seems he should be making much of this tax being a never ending tax that will be paid by us the remainder of our lives and all generations that follow will be required to pay. I don't know of another tax that has passed in our parish with that stipulation. That should be NEWS for taxpayers. Thumbs up for TOPIX the common people's news source. Thank you for your post.

We see this editors actions time and again protecting certain people even though they have broken many laws.

When there was a flagrant violation of laws at the Winnfield animal shelter by the so-called humane society, a man wrote a letter to the editor how his dog was taken by the "humane" society at the shelter.

The editor sanctioned, and maybe wrote ( who knows) an UNSIGNED article, under the banner of "letter to the editor" trying to defend the illegal actions of the humane society and placed it in a 4 column wide and over 1/2 page in length above the letter of the person who had
been wronged.

Surely, you do not include the tax Cranford is trying to slip by us no voters. He needs this never ending tax in order to accomplish the same things Bodie wanted to do. He thinks he as smart as his uncle Jack but that never happen.
