Bodie expects $2, 015,000 in new taxes so he can "successfully operate." A listing is given for what he wants to use it for,but one thing bothers me. " but not limited to" those things listed. Other than those things listed what are the other things he has in mind?

VOTE NO.Let the banks repo all of it. Sell it at Sherris sale and use the proceeds to buy horses. The horses can feed on the waste high grass across the street behind the eye sore of the historical jail house building the city had to keep. Now is a bad time to take money from people.

I would rather no more tax at this time. By voting we have a choice. And who's to say if a sales tax did pass and with the bad economy and not enough money he won't raise property tax anyway. Just something to think about. I'll say just tighten up their belts and work thru it. A lot of other people are so why not the WPSO??

I will vote "NO" for any more taxes. The reason the sheriff does not want to raise property taxes is because he owns so much property. He would have to pay a lot more in taxes so he decided on a sales tax. VOTE NO TO HIGHER SALES TAX!!!!!

Where did you ever get the idea that it has to be either a sales tax increase or property tax increase? How about neither? The sheriff needs to learn to live within his budget like everyone else does. Because of the economy in Winn Parish, I would vote NO on a sales tax and against any Police Jury member who supported a property tax increase.

Property taxes are used for operating other segments of government other than WPSO. So the sales tax, if passed will be additional taxes any way you look at it and we dont' need MORE taxes.

If you are someone in your family worked for the SO (anywhere), you would understand why they need a tax to survive! Have you ever seen the pay these poor souls bring home? Evidently not!!!!!!!!!

Evidently not!!!!!!!!! I would hope they knew what the pay scale was when they hired on. And where is it written down the money will go to the employees. Look at the unemployment rate in the US. Have you ever seen the pay these poor souls bring home. No you want because there is none. If anything tax's should be reduced for the need of the rest of America to survive. Also people can only spend what they have to spend. Raise the tax's and thats less they spend and the less business's will take in and the economy will fail even farther.
