The doors are closing Nov..12 & be back open in a month. That came from a friend of mine that works there. The ones that they are keeping are going to natchitoches for all their training. So now everybody can shut their trap up wait for the doors to reopen

My mother went to do her shopping today and said she was going to go there but the parking was so crowded she was afraid she would get run over. hehe I can see it happening, too. I hope they continue to do well. wal mart shouldn't be able to outdo their competition so easily with it being run the way it is. I'm not just talking about the local store but the company. Crushing Mom-andPop stores, not turning the air on despite oven-like temperatures, not enough checkers because they don't want to pay more people, putting a big-ass wal mart beside the Mexican pyramids.

I don't care about mom & pop bandidos...Walmart knows how to run a biz and Kayes was high as can be and carried outdated stock and the store stunk...Brookshires will be like putting lipstick on a pig because they just won't compete with Walmart. Looking at their papers in the mail they send they are as high or higher than Kayes was... Not to be insensitive to mom & pop, but they never were sensitive to anyone but themselves. The old Cash Grocery years ago and The White House grocery had good meat back then, but reasonable, and Eddie Powell delivered your stuff free...Winnfield was a great place to be back then. Those were real mom & pops, not the mom & pop of today with a stock ticker running on his 5 PCs. I have to go where it's cheaper, sorry.

I don't get the 'not turning the air on' comment...Walmart cold air blasted me all summer going thru the door, never has it been hot there for me. It's been near freezing lately, so maybe the heat was left on too long while she was there???

Unless Brookshires bought that store and lot and redo the store and parking lot it won't get done by you know who...

Give it about 6 months and then we can give real good opinions. Still a little early to know. But glad to see a new business in here. Now if we could get an affordable shoe store in here. I hate having to drive all the way to Alexandria for a pair of shoes for the family. I can't afford the high prices at the local store. We need something like a Shoe Town. Payless would be ok but their shoes are not very good quality. Anything, something.

I wonder if they'll still carry out groceries? Those carts are good for the huge holes to put in to warn drivers. All those cars there are probably just employees/workers and they're probably selling off Kayes old wore out stuff, check the dates!!!! LOL

A Save-A-Lot would have been much better for the po folk here. Brookshires will not be any better than that nasty Kayes. And a Taco Bell where Popeyes was would do great biz. But with the same worker types in Winnfield don't expect much. It may sound mean but it's true. :-)

I love Brookshires so far!!! The employees are REAL friendly and cater to your needs. I have seen stuff in there that I have to go all the way to Alexandria for. That makes me real happy!! Now, when the newness wears off, I don't know how it will be...but for now....WELCOME BROOKSHIRES

I went to Brookshire's the other day just to get a couple of items and check it out. It is nice and clean and has nice wide aisles. The prices are a little high but I'm willing to pay a little more for a store that has good customer service, which you cannot get at Walmart. When the cashier asked me if I had a Brookshire's card and I said I didn't, I expected her to offer me an application to get one. To my surprise she didn't say another word. If I can't get decent customer service, I am going to go back to shopping where my montey goes further..Walmart.

If you want to pay double for everything compared to wally world that's your choice...I don't like that big walmart store but I go for the prices. because I just can't afford anywhere else. Does Brookshire's still have the same rude women working there?
