Why is my water Brown!?!?! My swimming pool looks like a swamp! We can afford to buy concrete pigs, flashing signs for the sheriffs office, and brand new cop cars, but we cant make our water clean. the water our children drink, we bathe with, cook with. I mean really, priorities?

You must be new here...the water is always brown. A few days out the month we may have clear water.

Didn't the city install a water treatment system years ago that took the color out of the water?

We pay a "clear water" tax, but they can't keep the ozonenator system going.

If you want some clues to the problems with winnfield's water source and why the cancer rates are so high there... google carey salt mine/project cowboy/winnfield la. We have always heard that Winnfield's water source comes from an underground river. Shortly after there were TWO nuclear bombs blown in the salt works, they filled up with water from an underground river.. That same water flows into your water supply. I am onloy surprised that long time residents don't glow in the dark!!

I have filters on the sink, & shower, it's sad that we pay so much in water fees and have such terrible water. The powers that be don't seem to care. MAYBE they will lower our water bills because of all the trouble we have with the water. Won't hold my breath tho.

The color of local drinking water is based on the minerals disolved from the geological formation in whch the aquifer resides. Therefore our water is brown because of those disolved minerals but it is not unclean. In fact those same minerals are beneficial to your body. If you judge with your eye instead of the drinking water analysis results, your are hurting yourself. Our water is perfectly safe to drink and bathe with, when brown. However once it is treated with chemicals to make it appealing to the eye, or clear, then your chances of developing cancer increases tremendously. So what do you want... slightly disclolored water that is safe to drink and relatively inexpensive, or perfectly clear water that is expensive and will kill you.

I'm just tired of the water ruining my clothes. I washed my baby's new white dress...it came out looking like I soaked it in tea bags. My white towels are taupe. Of course, I can bleach the towels, but I can't bleach the clothes that have color on them as well.
Any suggestions....I don't want to throw brand new clothes away!
