you really should do some research before you ask stupid questions. i heard there was a big conspiracy between lawrence, bodie, mike smith, danny parker, perry joe smith, margaree, johnny ray, the police jury, fred flurry, the us marshall's office, scott nugent, leroy james, lamar tarver, jason tarver, the board of directors at sabine state bank, several wal mart employees and a gas station attendant, the new preacher at fbc, the naacp, al sharpton, the jena 6, jesse jackson, the aarp, buddy jordan, greg davies, the national grave yard assoc, gerber life protection plan and google. none of them wanted lawrence sworn in on 07/01/08.

I'll type slow...the new Assessor's term which lasts 4 years starts 1/1/09. The temporary assessor is filling the 6 months left when the last Assessor had to leave his 4 year term (which is scheduled to end 12/31/08) to start his 4 year term as Sheriff which started 7/1/08. The temp. Assessor was appointed Assessor because she was the chief deputy assessor.

The new Assessor was elected to serve a 4 year term which is to start 1/1/09. It has absolutely nothing to do with any classes. I know to me the easiest thing would be to let him just start in July, but that is not the law. If you don't like this law contact your law makers. Griping about it on topix isn't going to do any good.
