This one needs to stay at the top of the list - so that everyone will know how to do this.

And why would you want to expose anyone's skeletons, even if it is the truth? What good does that do anyone? I just do not understand people like you who delight in the shaming and embarrassing of others. I checked out the Natch. site...it comes no where close to the downright awful things on here. Also, if you believe the majority of what is posted on here, I have some land in Florida that I am willing to sell you at a good price.

A tip for those that wish to post something and don't want it removed right away, post it on Friday afternoon after 5:00pm and it will stay up till Monday! YEAH! There still is a little freedom of speech in the good ole USA! The topix folks take the weekends off just like the majority of the rest of the country.
Everybody talks about how this is "only" going on in the Winnfield topix site. Well I hate to tell you but your WRONG! Check out the Natchitoches topix site sometime.
Maybe some of what is told on here is true. However, the ones that are not true are only stated to try to hurt people and they do exactly that. I know 2 situations that were 100% false. In one situation a person almost lost their job until it was proven to be totally false. Another person almost lost a marriage until it was proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to be totally made up. I would say in my opinion that MOST of the bashing comments on here are false.

And who said they were lies? Your making assumptions....what if they are true? Seems to me if they were not true people would not worry about them.
If you can't figure out what's wrong with posting hurtful statements about private citizens, you're part of the problem. It says a lot about the way you were raised. I feel sorry for you.

Topix was first began to allow users to comment on news articles and the goings on of local communities. Not whose doing who or whose not!!!!! Who cares? When you decide to run for office or are in the public eye, you expect talk and handle it (hopefully) with maturity. This whole "bitch" bashing thing has been nothing but an embarrassment to the whole community. Now, they just need to take off that ridiculous poll.

why is 2 Cute's comment judged as mean?

Her comment is marked as mean because she is saying it is okay to bash a public servant but the "b i t c h bashing" crossed the line. Her comment is more clueless than mean.

I never said it was OK to bash a public servant, but the public servants realize they will be discussed. All this crap that's been going on with these 'ladies' was way out of control and then they kept bringing up the childrens names. That's a NoNo. O-K

Let me understand this according to you if you are a "private citizen" it's not ok to say hurtful staements about you. I guess that means if you are a public servant or figure you are open game huh?
A few things get said about somebody on topix and all you buttholes come out of the woodwork. Where were you during the sheriff's election? HUH? Tell me that! I didn't see you on this crusade then, when people were trashing all the candidates. But Oh, let somebody say something about a PRIVATE CITIZEN and Oh here you buttholes crusaders come! People like you is WHY WINNFIELD IS THE WAY IT IS! Double standard! Always has been!
Yes. Public figures are fair game. If they are going to represent our community in any way, we have the right to know what kind of person we are dealing with. That is NOT to say that it is ok to lie about them.

It's not okay to smear anyone, public or private, and I thought the over the top statements about various elected officials, and especially bringing their family members into it was way off base. But discussing politicians is totally appropriate, as long as it sticks to fact and not innuendo.

Ordinary people are a different matter altogether. There is NO reason to bring up some random person's private life on Topix. If you can't see that, well, like I said, that says a lot about the way you were raised. You'd be better off quitting while you're ahead. You're just digging yourself a deeper hole.

__________
Politicians are just ordinary people trying to do jobs for our community. Why don't we just stick to the facts and information concerning their jobs and what is going on in our community and leave PEOPLE and their children alone?

What would it take to get a bible discussion started on Topix? It had gotten so that it was so ugly I had just quit coming on here I bet there are a lot more like me too.

Now it is back on top again and I am sure I will get into trouble over what I have said even though it was meant in a nice way. I just hate to see all the hurt that is being done to people on here. None of us are perfect.

"What would it take to get a bible discussion started on Topix?"

There are already several, but feel free to start another. I think it's a great idea. Just need to keep in mind that there are going to be some opinions totally opposite of yours. I agree that the other family members and children should be left out of the discussion.

Are they on the Winnfield Topix? If so, under what title, please. Different opinions
are fine as long as it is not hurtful to other people. No one thinks alike, you could take 10 different people and let them read the same sentence and each would get a
different meaning from it. But something like that could be used for learning. I do like this getting cleaned up some and being used for news that happens in Winn Parish.
