one of those guys swore up and down last year that the housing downturn was already factored in and they had more business than they could handle already. Either they were lying or the situation has gotten a lot worse than they expected. I think there's a better than 50-50 chance that we're in the early stages of another Great Depression.

I agree economy watcher there is a very good chance of a great depression, high fuel prices have crippled the average wage earner , not only in out of pocket expense for personal fuel and utilities , but inturn this has esculated every facet of commerce.
Another Great Depression the magnitude of the 1930s would be devesating now, as there are no Mom and Pop farms as then , which made survival possible

The only ones that have been laid off or sent to other jobs is the construction crews. Some of the people who are going to stay with the co. are still working. Different contractors, ects.. have went to other jobs.

I've worked around OSHA for many years. OSHA does not come in and shut a plant down. They will do an inspection and my write a number of violations. Then they will give them so many days to fix them or they will be fined heavily but they do not shut down an operation, especially for 4 months. I worked on a job one time where someone got killed and they did not shut that job down.

The epa came in and shut them down, gotta do with the type of glue they are using. It has a high content of famaldihide and they gotta build a ventilation system to vent out the gases.

I just talked to a girl who works there. It is closing down because of lack of orders. They have a storage full at another location, so these have to be sold first. The economy needs to pick up.

Come to think of it, the EPA can't shut something down that hasn't started yet.
