Now I know everybody think that this crime is solved and the person responsible has been convicted and doing time,(for something he didn't even do)for the rest of his life- Scooter and Narvine were cousins and Scooter was set up and railroaded for this crime of passion. Nobody wants to speak about this because of the Dignitaries involved! I'm rather pissed about the whole thing. Maybe no one will respond but I just really wanted to put it on Winnfield's mind. Scooter did not kill Narvin, and because he (Scooter) could not afford an unbiased attorney, he has to spend the rest of his life in prison. This is sooooooooooooo sad, but typical of a JIM CROW town like good ole Winnfield.

Scooter did kill Narvin in a burglary gone bad, it was not a set up, he was hiding under a desk and Narvin found him after being called by the owner of the building. He took Narvin's gun while Narvin was trying to handcuff him. There was an eye-witness and it was in the old State Farm building. Yes, they were related but Scooter did kill him, cant blame anybody but Scooter for this except maybe the system for releasing him from jail a short time before he did this. They should have kept him in the first time.

Who was the eye witness?

The owner of the building went there that night to check on new lights that were put up out back due to previous burglaries. He realized someone had broken in, he went in and realized they were still in the building and called the police. He was there when the shooting occurred.

Seems anyone ever convicted by a jury of peers in Winn Parish really is never guilty, according to those who get on topix.

First of all, this guy was released from jail, according to law, before this crime was committed. He had served his time, got out, decided to break into the office building, the owner saw lights on and called the police, Narvin responded, tried to cuff him, got one cuff on, a strugle ensuded, and Cousan got to Narvin's gun and Narvin is dead because of Cousan's actions.

Second of all, his fingerprints were found at the scene of the crime.

Thirdly, he confessed.

Fourthly, the witnesses (African-Americans) who saw him running from the scene....must have lied on him?

Fifthly, the witness who helped him saw the handcuffs off in the park later that night must have lied, right?

Finally, and there's much more evidence than what I have stated, when the Supreme Court granted him a new hearing (not based on anything wrong with the trial but perhaps wrong with the sentencing) he decided to plead guilty.

Why would someone plead guilty to something they did not do and please do not say he was covering for someone else. That is ludicrous.

Find another distortion and put it on here. This case was solved by good investigators, all who are dead or retired, a conviction was obtained, and the judge on the case bent over backward to give Cousan's attorney every benefit of the doubt, and he was sentenced for his wrongdoing.

Also, please add this to whoever wanted to know who the witnesses were.

The first witnesses were two guys (African American) who were in the convenience store when it happened. One was from Jonesboro, the other an old man from Winnfield. Both saw Scooter Cousan running from the building. Both knew him. Another man saw him running across the lot at Smith Chevrolet.

There was another witness who saw him at the park or playground behind H. Y. Bell who helped him cut the handcuff off that same night. This guy told a family member who called law enforcement and they found the witness, asked him about it, he told them when, where and who as well as what.

Cousan was picked up, questioned, confessed, told cops it was all an accident, and so on.

Next thing we know on Topix, someone will solve the JFK murder, and maybe even Bobby Kennedy's murder.

This is a stupid thread. How many 'Scooters' are there around here? Donald Cousan is the party responsible for killing policeman Narvin Powell..this occurred several years ago..instead of Jim Crow,,methinks you have had too much Jim Beam. Why in Hell are you bringing up a subject from long ago and putting an acidhead twist to it?
I think that Topix needs to change its requirements for membership. Not only should anyone posting here be required to register under ONE name, they should have to take an IQ test. That would eliminate about 95% of the coneheads that post here now. Jeez..By the way,,Scooter did NOT kill JFK or Bobby Kennedy.
