Just another venue for people to "spew" their venom. Can't gain any ground on one Board so they "wander" around hunting for some "empty space" to fill up with, once again, "empty words." The question and the answer regarding getting a promoter from another state was very good. Less we forget to soon, another person came in from YET ANOTHER STATE, was not awarded the contract ,but if they had been, would any of these conversations be going on now? Just another que.stion

Good Afternoon,

I have attended 16 Uncle Earl's as a Competitor & Staff.

I am disturbed and disgusted by these remarks of cruelty because, not only are they untrue, but I recognize them as coming from a disgruntled losing Bidder and/or Competitor. This behavior is not only Unsportsmanlike, but sabotaging the Event for everyone else for your own selfishness is going to ultimately hurt the Sport of Baying.

SHAME ON YOU BAY PEN SQUEAL! Squealing is certainly an appropriate adjective to describe your childish tirade. You may consider yourself "genius" by finding an obscure audience, but rest assured that the Adults in the industry are aware of your actions and will not tolerate them.

For the benefit of the others on the thread that have now been duped into believing your rant, I guarantee this:

The City of Winnfield, the Staff, Judges and Competitors of Uncle Earl's have, and always will, place the welfare, health and safety of ALL the animals involved in PRIORITY REGARD.

The 2012 Producer has decades of experience as a Hunter, Competitor and Staff of Open & Sanctioned Bay Dog Events. The state he resides in is irrelevant to his competence. He has already implemented some changes to further ensure the safety of ALL plus engaged in Educating those who do not understand the rules and objective of the Sport.

For anyone interested, please read our basic interpretation of Baypenning titled, "What is a Professional Bay Dog Field Trial?" at:

http://www.baypenbuzz.tv

The 17th Annual Uncle Earl's is Open to the Public, we welcome you to come and form your own opinion! I assure you that you will not find the "bloodsport" described by the disgruntled "Squealer".

Hope to see you there!!

I made an error and want to correct it. Dogo's are not allowed in the baypen area either. My error and I apologize.

#1 Board Member: If you dont know the rules then makes you qulify to be a board member?

#2 Bayed Solid Magazine and its new owner Terry Ratliff along with his goon Randy Brown are posting comment in their mag about dogs attacking hogs!
Now anyone of us bay pen people know that is bull, but why in the world would they say that?

#3 My guess is that Bay Pen Buzz is owned by Bayed Solid Magazine but for some reason they have decided to make the ownership of that domain completely private... hmmm.

#4 Bay pen Squealer: Its obvious your an idiot and probably some bunny hugger posing to be a bay pen guy or girl.

#5 Bay Pen Buzz: What in the world would posses you to accuse a bidder or competitor? You are obviously an idiot as well!

#6 This whole thread is dumb! I will persoonally not attend UEHDT this year due to its new producers and the lack of their experience. They are pushing out the ones who have been there since this event has started and bringing in big companies just for a profit! I say boycot Uncle Earl's and Bayed Solid Magazine and any of their sponsors or partners until we see a change!

Well say what you want. I went ONCE and only ONCE and I know what my eyes did see....blood, scared dogs, hogs and the workers scrambling to get out of the way of harm. I didn't like it then and I don't like it now. When something new comes to Winnfield everybody wants to go see what the deal is. It's a crying shame that Winnfield has to stoop so low as to hurting animals.

lil porker - sounds like sour grapes to me. Pushing out which ones??? Where were You the year we didn't have a trial? That isn't true. You don't have a clue. As for Mr. Huff's experience, he has put on trials, he has judged trials, including Uncle Earl's.

It doesn't matter who produces the UEHD trials, some are not going to be happy. Sorry about that, but that is the way it is with any event that is put on anywhere.

We as a board want the trials to continue; for the sport, and for Winn Parish. We hope that we have bigger and better trials every year.

Kirby, I don't know what year you went, but I do know that there was none of that last year. I'm sorry you don't like it. I don't like a lot of things people do - but I realize their right to do it, and I don't get on something like Topix and try to ruin it for them.

I am not going to say a dog has never gotten hold of a hog or vice versa, but accidents happen in all things. People get kicked at the rodeo - you going to ban rodeo's? Animals get run over - you going to ban cars? All we can do is try to have the best and safest trials we can have.

I don't believe they were held last year. Or maybe it was the year before. The hog dog is an intentional "sport" that animals, and people have a great potential to get hurt. Rodeos are not. As far as an animal getting run over by a car - where was the owner and why were they running free? Maybe it was a stray and God wanted to end his misery of being homeless, hungry and unloved. I say BAN HOG DOG!!!!!!

From Baypen Buzz:

"Contrary to some public perception, there is typically very little contact between the animals in baying events. The competition has gotten so tough, that even one minor mistake by the dog can toss him out of a trophy win and cash. Add to that, countless dollars, plus hours of training make most Open Bay Dogs so valuable, Professional Kennel owners won’t risk injury on sub-standard stock or arenas."
"Bay dogs harass and harry the boar, keeping it cornered in one place, while intensely vocalizing. This behaviour is known as “baying” or keeping the boar “at bay”. The bay dogs vocalizing alerts the hunter(s) to the bay, and the dogs maintain a slight distance from the boar allowing the hunter(s), once caught up, to dispatch the boar with a well placed rifle shot or tie the hog up to be killed and cleaned later as the meat from a boar goes bad very quickly. Bay dogs are typically Cur dogs such as the Leopard Cur, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Blackmouth Cur, Blue Lacy, Catahoula and trailing scent hounds such as the Walker Hound, Foxhound, Plott Hound.”

Mr Kirby,

The Buzz is NOT owned by Bayed Solid, but by myself, an avid Catahoula Breeder, National level bay dog Competitor and National Level Bay Pen Judge. As I stated, I have attended all Earl's Events but one as either a Competitor or Staff.

"Bay Pen Squeal" is the ACTUAL name of the Forum administered by a group with the losing bid. I am going to assume that YOU are with THEM as this again, appears to be a thinly-veiled attempt to sabotage an otherwise amazing event for your own sinister purpose.

In the case that you are just uneducated, I suggest you watch a sheepdog trial. Properly trained dogs can herd stock all day without causing damage to it. This is our goal at Bay Dog Events.

I personally, do not like boxing events, therefore I do not attend them. If I went on a unprovoked rant on a forum as you have chosen to do, I would expect the same result.

If you don't like it, don't attend.

Dear Bay Pen Buzz,
I am not associated with anyone or anything. I am just your normal everyday person that knows what they have seen and I have a right to my opinion as do you. I personally know some of the board members and their families so Bay Pen I KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. I am not uneducated. I have a college degree thank you very much. This was not an unprovoked rant as you stated. It's my piece of mind, my two cents MY OPINION. If you would like we can name names and give phone numbers address and emails.

Yes, sir. You absolutely, 100% have a right to your opinion.

HOWEVER, implying that our sport INTENTIONALLY hurts animals is not an opinion, it is an allegation. A very serious and incorrect accusation.

I personally have dedicated two decades to breeding and training animals to avoid injury to themselves and to my livestock. I agree that others do not have the same discipline, however, my participation as Staff at these Events is how I choose to educate others in doing the same.

I can see how you may have been offended at last year's show, we have a lot of new participants that are still learning the ropes. The new Producer has much more experience as a Bay Pen Competitor than the last, he has some great ideas on how to reduce the risk of injuries.

NONE OF US want our dogs or hogs to get hurt! Again, you are entitled to your opinion as to whether you enjoy the sport or not, but spreading mis-truth's is not a right, and it is hurtful to innocent people.

If you should decide to give it another chance, please contact one of the Veterans, any of us would be happy to show you what the real object of the game is!

Best wishes
Ivan

Now,now, we don't need to start throwing College Degrees around. Uneducated can mean that you did not make it out of the 1st grade. I have quite a few College Degrees and am sitting here watching my Alma Mater play football right now, Alabama, thank you very much!! When I act less than smart I surely do not profess to have a College Degree and let me say to you there are times I act less than smart, one of them being right now acknowledging your post. I certainly have enjoyed yours and "l'il porkers" post today. Was just the laugh that I needed. You are correct in the fact that you are OPINIONATED . Just stop and think, than use some of that College Degree you are so proud of and speak intelligently. That seems to be what Bay Pen Buzz is trying to do as well as others that were commenting at the beginning until things got "stupid."

I appreciate the board members and bay pen buzz stepping up and trying to explain to some of these people how a hog baying is run. I have been a competeitor and a judge at UE since it first started and I have run my own bay pen since 1996 and have put shows in Texas to benefit the Texas Dog Hunters Association. With that being said myself and my staff intend to put on a first class hog baying. I have some very great ideas to make it run smoother and better for the contestant and the spectator. The only thing that I ask if you have a problem or a question contact us. www.fullboarproductions.org and we will answer it.

This has become something that it should not have. We all need to sit back and realize that we all have one thing in common and that is the love of hog hunting/baying. If only we could take this "fight" and turn it into strength we might be able to overcome some of our true enemies ie. PITA! If someone has a problem with someone else please be adult enough to contact that person in private and confront them on the issue. We need to unite and not fall apart because one of got the winning bid or the best dogs. Is this how we want our kids to be? Not mine.
I learned a valuable lesson this past Dec at 5L Ranch. One of my competitors kids and my kid were playing as if nothing everhappened between the 2 companies. Why cant we adult do this? Leave business between 9am and 5pm and after the mud has been thrown sit down and laugh about over an ice tea. Just my 2 cents.

dear Board member..Could you tell us what qualifications you and the rest of the board have that would qualify you to properly choose a "Producer". And If you say you were there and did not see hogs being ripped you are a liar. How much money do you get paid or do you make off the event ? who appoints your board? where will your hogs come from and will they be tested for disease and sickness. How much money does the Mayor make from taking pictures? And once again how will you insure the safty of the animals and spectators?
Mr Huff perhaps you can answer these questions,Mr board member obviosly cannot."WILL THE HOGS BE TESTED FOR DISEASE LIKE BRUCELLOSIS AND SUDO RABIES WHICH IS CONTAGIOUS TO HUMANS" Where will the hogs come from ? instate of out of state? The current laws state it is unlawful to haul hogs except to slaughter. Will all dogs be required to have health certificates and vaccinations? Has anyone ever been biten by a dog at Uncle Earls? What are the procedures you will take to insure the safty of the hogs, dogs and spectators?
