The H. Nelton Adams memorial daffodil field, a four-acre field of daffodils with as many as 100 varieties planted will open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 4th, 5th and 6th.

There are also several large trees on the site, including a 113 year old pecan tree; I think it's one of the largest you'll ever see.

Property owner Thera Lou Adams of Camden, Arkansas works incredibly hard maintaining the property, constantly planting new daffodil varieties and thinning and transplanting others ensuring a beautiful display every year.
The cold winter we've had this year should help to assure a veritable explosion of daffodils come opening day.

Mrs. Adams named the field for her late husband, Nelton Adams of Sikes, who began planting the field originally so his father, Troy could see it from his nearby residence.

Thera Lou will be on hand this year to answer any questions you may have regarding the care and feeding of daffodils. Her knowledge of other flowering plants is extensive as well. She usually has bulbs for sale, too.

Admission to the field is free, so bring a camera and a picnic lunch (make a day trip of it)and enjoy what is one of the most beautiful flowering displays in our area.

From Winnfield, take highway 34 out past Gaar's Mill about five miles. The field is on the right, across from 680 highway 34.
You won't be able to miss it.

From Jonesboro, take highway 147 (Walker Rd.) to highway 34, turn right, the field is about one mile down on the left.

From Monroe/West Monroe. take highway 34 to the Winn Parish line. You'll find the field about one mile past the line on the left.

Enjoy the drive and be careful! We'll be looking for you!

Although Saturday isn't looking good weather-wise, Friday and Sunday should be okay.

Load up the kids and a picnic lunch and come out for the daffodils. You won't regret it; Mother Nature will be putting on a heckuva show!
Thanks
