And times are getting EVEN HARDER for those who have worked a life time and ARE NOW TOO OLD TO WORK, to have savings drawing less than 1% and social security which they have paid into (BY FORCE) their entire working career which is not geared to inflation and everything going up (TAXES, GROCERIES, GASOLINE, INSURANCE, MEDICAL CARE, EVERYTHING) I resent the government taking money that I have worked for and giving IT AWAY through food stamps, commodities, free telephones, subsidized housing, on and on, while depleting what I've worked for to give to those who claim to be in need. You ask God to bless them. How can you possibly do that if you don't know the person posting or know if they try to help themselves or are just lazy.
Thessalonians 3:10 King James Version (KJV)
10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
Most who ask God's blessings on ones who claim to be in need (with no verification from you)don't even realize the money taken by force from taxpayers, who have worked and are now barely getting by, but still holding to property bought over the years to be for retirement use and having taxes ---library tax for one example ---ever increased on their property advocating it is alright to take our money to give to someone like the poster without even knowing the background of that person. give to a poster who claims to be in need. You evidently don't care or stop to think where the money comes from to buy all that stuff to give away. And before You might think I'm not charitable, let me say, that government has removed a lot of the means to be charitable by confiscating worker's/retiree's money by inflation, low interest rates and high taxes and we don't have money left. It would be much better for charity to supply needs of truly needy for that is not government confiscated money being used. Tax money takes from those who are also in need who have no control over the robbery or over site as to whether it is given to needy or lazy.

I don't know the posters situation, however the agencies involved will determine their elgibility...not me. God bless you too. I'm certainly not happy with the govt, who do not make sure only the elderly and truly disabled recieve help and weed out the slackers. I'll vote for the conservative since the guy in there now is a total failure on this and everything.

there's alot the time that those on social security don't get enough to get by or barely do and food stamps don't always pay. I know a lady that's on social security and she only gets like $10 of food stamps.

Check the Presbyterian church, I think they give out food boxes once a month.

Am I correct in thinking the Presbyterian Church is not in any way tax funded, no taking from one to give to another--called re-distribution of wealth? And are not the food boxes from people who want to donate, use their own money and and have the means to do so? That is what we need and not government confiscation of workers/savers/ money and then government decides where to give your money.

Your postings are very, very confusing, to say the least!
You, on one hand are recommending giving away confiscated tax monies by naming all the places that use money stolen from taxpayers, and giving out government telephone number to encourage MORE use of government subsidy and sanction MORE government power when you say , " the agencies involved will determine their elgibility...not me. ". You are agreeing with big government on one hand but then say you desire to vote for the(?) conservative candidate .

Wow. what can I say??? You say ," If Warren Buffet told me he was hungry, i'd give him part of what food i had...which today, isn't very much.." Yet, there is a person posting RIGHT HERE on Winn TOPIX claiming to be in need of food ( but you will let government sort that out and urge confiscated money be used for food ). while you don't volunteer to give part of your food to the local person. What do you think the chances of Warren Buffet telling you he is hungry??. You have a chance very close at hand you could donate to out of the goodness of your heart and perhaps start our country on a conservative course.. Change begins at home...not Washington, D.C.

your reading comprehension really lacks depth..I would give anyone hungry part of what i have if asked. If the govt gives, i'm hoping they don't give to slackers taxpayer funds, and i know the guy in there now is the food stamp go to guy, so i'm voting for the other guy. I'm probably too simplistic for your oversized cranium, but ok, you win...feel better?

hUMM , You do make lots of assumptions about me, don't you? I'm glad you like to share with the hungry and needy. The Lord places responsibility on the INDIVIDUAL, but so many people have encouraged government to usurp our responsibility , by encouraging the needy to seek government aid, and people voting for more taxes to remove our responsibility to help the sick ( instead they are urged to go to a government agency) Do you like the system we have now where earned money is confiscated by tax withholding before the check even gets in your home? More taxes are taken out when even non property owners can vote a tax on property owners? This corrupt system puts government in charge of deciding who is worthy to receive our money, but we have no choice in how much money they take or how it is used. Wake up America! We are fast becoming like Communist Russia where their leader, said, " FROM each according to his abilities, TO each according to his needs." We saw the result of that theory. The country fell! The government took over a person's responsibility/ability to obey the Lord
In addition to all the taxes taken from us we have a Federal Reserve ( which is neither Federal or a reserve) controlling interest rates, the money supply, and keeps printing more fiat money further eroding the value of the dollar so we can buy less and less as it takes more dollars to buy food, gas,and everything else, and sinking the nation further into debt--debt that will be passed on to our children and grandchildren or perhaps a total collapse of our currency.

There are lots of slackers getting entitlements they are not qualified for, true, and the dems have done that for votes, but you're far right on the issue i think. There are good people who through circumstances beyond them need a hand up at times, especially now with people losing their jobs and homes, people who worked all their lives and can't find a job. Those are the ones that deserve help...not cradle to grave support. The agencies should give emergency help, not a pension...and there are agencies that retrain folks for jobs..I'm conservative, but not mean.

Commodities help the hungry, if you don't like tax dollars going to that, then leave, or just imagine that your special little tax dollars went for a down payment on a tank instead. God has nothing to do with the Government and doesn't ever vote in our elections. There's just no telling where any one "tax dollar" may go, but it's more than likely spent differently than we would spend or save it ourselves. If they send out an itemised list let me know.

We AGREE there are lots of slackers. But I disagree that they are entitled to live off taxpayers,( so I guess I AM FAR RIGHT). I don't call what they get "entitlements". I call it stealing and who lets them? Isn't it "the agencies involved will determine their elgibility...not me."

I bust my a** for my paycheck. It pays MY bills. I have extra money to afford a cell phone, computer, car, air-conditioning, and many other extras that some see as something they MUST have. Some would call me far right, some would say he's a republican. Whatever you wish to call me, I support my family and we live comfortable. Food stamps to those who are needy doesn't bother me, FREE cell phones make me mad. Phones are not necessary to live. Cars are not necessary to live. What is next, govt. giving cars to those who are "in need"??????????

From your post I see you earn your keep and have EXTRAS that you also work for. The one who wanted to know if there was a place to get commodities (1st post)didn't really say there was need, but they certainly had an "extra" --a computer and the money to pay the internet charges. I've always thought before asking for others to support them with commodities, you should sell "extras" and try to help themselves first. You pay for your extra, I pay for mine. the person wanting commodities wants commodities as well as the extras.
to me that indicates that person is not in dire need of food paid for by us who work or have worked. They think they are entitled to keep extras and let us workers supply the commodities. And most posters here think that should be done and I'm far right!
A few talk as if they want more conservative government, but on the other hand keep supporting, encouraging more spending on welfare at the expense of working people. Perhaps they have never realized they are talking out of both sides of their mouth.
