Does anyone know if anyone plans to run against Chris Nevils in the D.A. election later this year?

I sure hope some one runs against that drunk driving, hit and run , lying DA who should have resigned when found driving a car,(and with a passenger) belonging to the citizens of Winn in a drunken condition, and breaking several laws that he vowed to uphold with his hand on the Holy Bible.
But instead of resigning, the La. District Attorneys Association announced Winn Parish District Attorney Chris Nevils was elected as a member of the LDAA Board of Directors.
That illustrates the principles of that board; rotten to the core; no concern for the taxpayers who pay all their salaries and benefits.

Chris Nevils sat on ex Assessor, Bodie Little's case of malfeasance, then dismissed the case "as being too old" to prosecute. The State had all the proof of Bodie's cheating the
citIizens of Winn , but D.A. Nevils let him go free. That is wrong, wrong!
However , Nevils later prosecuted an unrelated case much, much older than the Assessors case and bragged about it on the front page of the paper.

It was found later that the greatly reduced tax assessment Bodie gave to a hunting club in Winn had as some of the participants the likes of ex Govenor Foster and his friend Dick Cheney.
Bodie still owes to the citizens of Winn Parish the monies he heaped to himself while he was Assessor. D.A. Nevils just looked the other way and let that money slip through the cracks. That is wrong, wrong! All government has to do is increase taxes to make up for waste and theft.

Bodie , because Nevils didn't prosecute him for the wrongdoing as Assessor, went on to become Sheriff where he further drug our parish down and yes, our taxes were increased with a never expiring tax. All this compliments of do-nothing D.A. Nevils. He needs to be replaced. He needs to be removed from our payroll

Bodie was the Tax Assessors way before Chris come along. No one had anything to say about Terry and all the things he did. Winnfield has been corrupt for decades. Chris like anyone else makes mistakes. No one has anything to say about behind the scene corruption of the Judges office. Terry did not prosecute Cranford for all the things he did. The list go on.

There is much wrong, but Chris Nevils is the one who dismissed the case against Bodie with all the evidence IN HIS HANDS. That is still costing us taxpayers. We have had a non expiring tax passed because of Nevils letting the offender go free. That cannot be excused as a "mistake".
Nevils is the one who is in office now ( not Terry) and this thread is not about the Judges office. I hope we have a chance to replace Nevils for violating his oath of office and letting a public official get by with stealing and other things. Getting drunk and driving our parish car was no "mistake" either. He cannot be excused so easily. Nevils deliberately drank to an excess, hit a vehicle , because of his drunken condition and deliberately ( not mistakenly) ran away, instead of obeying the law. We need and we deserve a law-abiding D.A.

Has he convicted anyone. A cop tazed a handcuffed man to death and got off. Hell I could sit up in there and accept plea bargains, an I don't drink. Hope some other lawyer sees this opportunity. He'll be a shoo in.

Nevils should have resigned after he ran from the accident scene which he caused in his drunken condition. His membership in the Louisiana district Attorneys Association after that is a disgrace to the whole organization and the State of Louisiana!

People like to get on here and bitch, but no one will put their money where their mouth is. I couldn't say what kind of job Chris has done at the D.A.s office because I would rather leave that job to him, as I'm sure y'all would too, until election time rolls around and you can go straight to the internet and bitch. And that permanent tax isn't in place because bodie magically made it appear. The tax payers of Winn parish voted it in. BTW, I didn't vote for Bodie, Chris, or any new taxes, but that's just the way the system works. If you want Chris out of office lobby a better more qualified attorney to run for the office then raise the funds and spend the time to campaign for him, but please quit bitching on the internet about what shoulda woulda coulda.........

People who can say what kind of job Nevils does are the ones who read the DA reports in the local paper and his occasional "news" report published by the local paper. Bodie left the sheriffs department broke and in debt, a new tax was proposed because of his mis-management and passed by a small percentage of the registered voters in an off season election. There is no reason not to point out the flaws of an elected official when he will most probably soon be seeking re-election. Are we just to be silent, and believe only their campaign posters and advertisements when they are trying to get votes ? I think NOT!

BATON ROUGE, La.(KNOE 8)– Winn Parish District Attorney Chris Nevils was arrested in Baton Rouge Wednesday, charged with DWI, Hit and Run, and Failure to Maintain Control.

Nevils, 39, was arrested just before 10 PM Wednesday.

According to a Baton Rouge Police report, Nevils was trying to pass a car when he hit another car.

Nevils told KNOE 8 News Friday that he drove the car – a 2008 Dodge Charger registered to the Winn Parish District Attorney’s office – another couple of blocks, stopping at his parents house.

Police say Nevils took a blood-alcohol test that registered .173, more than double the legal limit. He requested a second test and its results were .176.

Following his arrest, Nevils was released into the custody of a family member.

Nevils told KNOE 8 News,” I truly regret that it happened. I know what a serious matter drinking and driving is and I’m going to do everything to make it right.”

Nevils has been the chief prosecutor in Winn Parish since 2006.

Yes, information travels swiftly via the internet, and there is nothing sloppy about that speed.. The common citizen now does not have to wait for slow mail, etc., does not have to wait to make a response. Glad you are keeping informed via the internet, as well as untold numbers of others..

The person that Nevils hit followed Nevils until he stopped at a house where the victim said he saw a female passenger rush out of the car and into the house.(This was in a newspaper account that has apparently been removed from the internet)
The address given in the said newspaper account where Nevils stopped and the female passenger got out of the car was not the address listed as his parents house.

Nevils later said that was a male passenger and gave a name. Seems a strange thing for a male passenger to jump out and run into his "parents' house" leaving him in the driveway.

With all Chris Nevils lies, drunkenness, hit and run, someone having TOPIX forums about the wrongdoing and newspaper accounts removed, no wonder the Louisiana District Attorneys' Association and the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission is trying to boost Nevils. However, all that everyone of them is doing is revealing how UN-American they really are and that they care nothing about truth, morality, the Constitution , upholding the law , fairness and the preservation of our nation. Corruption among our elected officials will be the downfall of our nation.
They all may try to gloss over, erase, remove Topix threads, newspaper accounts, conceal, ignore, cover-up and embrace wrongdoing, but each one will one day face a just God in judgement. That is the GOOD news!!

Thanks to someone who posted the web site of the Washington Post who reported our shameful D.A. Chris Nevils and the shameful group that gave him an award for his involvement in punishing others for the crime he committed. Surely, Winn residents don't want a D.A. with that background and with the shameful backing of other corrupt political entities standing behind him and his law breaking activities. We deserve better. He sould have resigned long ago.

Now he wants to regulate the sale of E-cigarets, because of supposedly "danger" to young people. Where does he think the parents are that look after their children? What does he think of our freedom to choose ?( Oh, he broke his oath of office to uphold the laws) An E-cigaret , used by one person does not endanger everyone around them, like he did when he had twice the legal limit of alcohol, making him a potential danger to everyone on the road when he was in that drunken condition.

I bet that ole boy still drinks like a whale. Something wrong with people who drink just to get drunk. If you're a politician though you're bullet proof because they back each other, all criminals and liars. That's why people want to get elected except for a few, but they corrupt them too.

Less than 100 miles from Winnfield, an attorney in Mansfield, La. was barred from practicing law for 3 years by the Supreme Court of Louisiana.
The offense? Several rules of professional conduct were violated.
http://www.shreveporttimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/...

Why was not Chris Nevils not disbarred? He, too violated several rules of professional conduct. The Mansfield attorney didn't endanger anyone's life, Chris Nevils had the potential of causing a fatal wreck, not just a sideswipe.

That attorney got disbarred, Nevils continues to be so-called "honored" in spite of his law-breaking. Where is justice in our "justice System"? Follow the money trail!! People, this man must go at the next election if someone runs against him.
