Larry Bates , his brother is Steve Bates the house does make a statement. To some it brings envy but to most it says (look I got money and you need to know it). Who can use that much house for anything but to gloat?

Ahh let them gloat. I personally wouldn't want a house that size cause I can only imagine how long it would take to clean it lol

I just look at that think "nobody needs or can use that much house and how many little children could that money help" ? I suppose it important for some people to impress than to quietly seek those who truly need and deserve help

This is their dream house. They worked hard and raised two good kids. Why shouldn't they enjoy their hard work? Nothing was handed to them. These are the type of people to admire not to be jealous of.

Lynn is right & this is what we are working with Barak to achieve. It's good for everyone not just a few. I mean, my kids would love to have some of that man's money.
Social democracy is a political philosophy that supports a doctrine that everyone be taken care of and there should NOT be a wide gap between individual's wealth.
That is, social democracy holds that those with more should help support those with less and no individual should have or own so much as to be richer than others.

Did not realize Barak was talking about helping with things like St Jude, and children cancer research, and other programs such as these. Social democracy does not have a thing to do with any of these. Just me but to see a child suffer and know that I could live in a average house and use money to save that child would be far more rewarding.

That is what was great about our once great country, people had the freedom to do with their earnings exactly what they wanted to do. It is easy for you to say YOU ( if you had lots of money) would do thus and so with it, but until you have worked and saved for years and years for something you have longed for and that dream was the motivation for you to get up and go to work every day and work into the night, you don't know what you would do.

With taxation so high now, ALL earners are having money confiscated from them to supply housing , telephones, food, medical care, education, dental care, and diapers to many lazy people who won't turn a hand to help themselves and sit around waiting for their next hand-out. When government takes hard earned money to give it to the lazy, why should anyone give much or any of what they have left of the rewards of his labor to anything?
That's my opinion.
