And the State of CT. wants to have 7 days a week ,to keep liquor stores open. We need to shut the package stores down for good. Was he coming from the casino? They too want 7/24 days open for booze, What are we thinking?

Alcohol and pick up trucks don't mix. When will pick up truck drivers ever learn?

seriously? you think having liquor stores open one more day is going to contribute to MORE drunk driving? What is your logic? Just because people can buy booze for a greater percentage of time during the week doesn't mean they're going to drink more.

Do they have a Casino out by the Airport, Blo Pop? There is an OTB near by. A bowling alley up the street. A few bars inside Airport. It was closing time. Do you get out much? "What are WE thinking?" You, not at all. Me? Let's drink 24/7. YeeHaw

This is a crazy statement. The people who want to purchased alcohol on Sunday, now just go over the stateline or they go to a bar. I doubt you'll see more drunk drivers because of this. There will always be stupid people in the world, but I think the only way to get people to think before they drink and drive is to have tougher penalties.

How quick we can judge people we dont know . It is a very tragic accident . I am just so thankful that no one was killed and not spending my time judging the person . I am so sure you have never ever drove after drinking and you also live in a glass house . FYI , he is an awesome guy who made a HUGE mistake .

Someone driving a pick up is NOT a truck driver. The wording reflects a bad opinion for those who drive truck.

He made a mistake true - he should get at least two years in prison to correct it. It will be interesting to see if he does hard time for his mistake.

The jerky PU driver could be looking at 14 PI legal actions as well as the criminal charges. If he has any assets, he is going to be soooooo broke!

A drink or two does not make one impaired. The charge is DUI, not drinking and driving, which is legal if your BAC is lower than the law permits. BIG difference.

A good shuttle driver could have avoided that accident. As a professional driver you have to learn to expect the unexpected and don't trust green lights whole-heartedly. You still need to check to make sure that someone is not trying to run a fresh red-light,(aka - the 5-second rule) albeit wrong, but you have to be aware of your surroundings, especially when carrying people.
With that said, I hope all the injured parties are okay. Everyone is to blame in an accident, regardless of who has the right away, you still have to procede with caution.
This could have been avoided. I hope the shuttle company pulls this driver for some retraining to be on the safe side.
