So, Lori Wheaton says this is totally rediculous. If this off duty police officer was traveling 73 miles an hour on YOUR street and killed on of YOUR own would you still think this is totally rediculous?

So, Lori Wheaton thinks this is all totally rediculous. Obviously she hasn't had anything happen to her where the police had to get involved. If this had been YOUR child that was killed by someone traveling 73 miles an hour on YOUR street and it was handled the way it was handled, would you still feel that this is all totally rediculous?? I don't think so!!

I think it's crazy that no one now trusts the WLPD ! There are still some good guys left. If the teens & police in this town have a "strained" relationship as one person said - don't you have to ask yourself why ?
Now I didn't know the victim or his family, but from what I have been reading, he doesn't seem to be one of the "typical" teens that live in this town. It's sad that his life ended so quickly and violently and rest assured the person that took his life will be tormented by it the rest of his life and will never live a peaceful life. I hope the Dang Family gets everything they deserve for their loss !!!
I witnessed at 3:30 am, about 6 teens about 15 or so, walking down my street - being very loud and obnoxious, throwing beer cans all over, peeing on peoples lawns and then was told to "F" off when I said something to them about being quiet. I didn't fly off the handle, I didn't call the police, I asked them to move along since they were right in front of my house and it was disturbing !! Now tell me why the police and teens in this town have a strained relationship !!! Did these parents know their kids were doing this ? Doubt it !!! I could have easily called the police and said a group of teens walking down West St. appear to be drunk - but I didn't !!
The very thing everyone is all up in arms about this cop breaking laws - well what about the kids in this town that are drinking underage, smoking marijuana ?? Illegal ? I think so. And what about the parents that buy their underage kids alcohol and let them drink at home ? Illegal? I think so. AND don't try to tell me this doesn't happen.
The actions of this police officer and everyone involved are unforgiveable, the Dang family will never get back what they lost - but the next time you are thinking of having a drink and hoping into your car - think twice. The next time you want to go speeding down Spring or West to "miss" the light - think twice. The next time your teens are heading out the door to spend a night with friends - know where they are going and what they will be doing !
It's a shame this happened, but take a hard look at yourself - are you always a model citizen who NEVER breaks laws ?

I have to agree with the both of you. Unfortunately its like they say. One bad apple ruins the whole bunch. The actions of these officers is waying down heavily on the rest of the dept. I also agree to the fact that there are teenagers out late at night being disrespectful but its not just teenagers. I also know there are teenagers who are drinking and cant understand why the adults in the household are allowing it.
