What a sick, religious creep! Shame on Public Safety Commissioner John A. Danaher III for picking the pockets of taxpayers to revive the chaplaincy program (Courant, Public Safety Commissioner Leads Effort To Revive Chaplaincy Program, May 12, 2008) Who will the latest chaplain "prey" on?

Don't worry to those Catholics who give generously, the 750K settlement was paid by insurance. I can't blame Father Gatzak Or Bishop Mansell for not commenting, they did not enable Foley. Both Gatzak and Mansell were getting their hair colored and were not available.

The Catholic Church seems not to care nor learn from these perverts they call priests. AND they still pay this creature from funds of the poor.
What a shame. The pervert should be arrested for his crimes and sent to see Bubba up in Somers.

This is both dispicable and disheartening.

Foley has been a chickenhawk for years and has had friends, inside and outside the church hiding and shielding his predatory behavior for years. Ask around or just think about it.

The Catholic Church should be ground up to grist and thrown in the wind. Every single parrish everywhere is full of pedophile scum. The church has been shown to have had full knowledge of the conduct of its priests, has been conclusively shown to have hidden and shielded priests from criminal exposure, has been conclusively shown to move "problem" priests to other parrishs when their buggery started to come to light and when things got too hot in one country, sent them to third world countries to butt-rape the children there.

The church and Foley got off easy which is a universal problem. The evil that the Catholic Church has done to its most helpless members, the children, is simply unforgivable.
Let alone its archaic stupidity in regards to a changing world around them and their ass-backwards edicts. Sue them to a poverty level and then start to TAX them heavy!

Which brings us to another issue. Why are the churches not taxed? There is NO GOOD REASON. Tax them all and their employees, spread the wealth, spread the pain.

And Foley, you pompous vile pedophile reptile, I hope someone strings you up on a barb wire fence in Wyoming with a broken broom stick in your holy creche and lets you die of exposure....ever so slowly.

Finally, another case settled against this monster. CT changed their laws so people could sue their abusers years after the abuse took place. Now they need to change the laws and lock these people away. Forget about statue of limitations!

It can take years for a child to be able to tell someone about abuse. The child should not be punished for being abused. The abuser should be held responsible forever for his actions. Foley needs to be locked up to keep him from abusing others. Maybe if these priests were hauled off to prison, the Catholic Church would get rid of the abusers quickly. It is too easy just to transfer them to another community where they can start all over again.

Members of the Church need to protest actions by the Church to promote and transfer these monsters. Isn't Law living in Italy now? He wasn't punished by the Church. How many others are being protected and hidden away with the Church paying their expenses? It is time for a change!

My hearfelt congratulatons to William Noll for bringing his case to this point in time. As a preist, AND as a victim of clergy abuse, I find it disheartening, and even faith-shattering, to watch the hierarchy of our church "hide" under their miters and behind the "gold old boy" fraternity. The hierarchy cries that victims should FORGIVE -- but they forget that forgiveness also requires ATONEMENT, REPARATION and JUSTICE. These last three the hierarchy fights tooth and nail to prevent from happening -- fighting against extending or lifting Statutes of Limitations, or from releasing documents that show their part of covering up this whole mess.
When we first heard Foley was in Virginia we were told the "proper people" were notified -- the police, and the pastor of the parish in which he was living. NO notice to the public, no notice to parents, no word to children in public schools etc that a pedofile was living in their community -- and their reason? "To protect his (Foley's) privacy." Yeah, Right!

Why is this guy still walking around free? Shouldn't he be in jail for the rest of his life? Oh, that's right, this is CT, where Justice depends on who you know, not what's right or wrong.

Foley thought himself a fireman yet all he is is a Flamer. And he gets paid medical as good as a retired fireman and a pension thanks to the Diocese of Hartford. Too many dysfunctional people allowed in the Priesthood.

Foley's arrogance is such that I'm sure some day he would have become a bishop or cardinal. I hope I live to see the day there are random acts of violence against Catholic Church Hierarchy, and the politicians and law enforcement officers who covered up for scumbags like Foley for decades.

And the coverup continues, I hope this case in Norwich moves forward, if this RICCO case is successful maybe it will bring change to all the parrishes. This can not continue.

Daily Horoscope for May 24

Aquarius

In complete contrast to yesterday, you have your head screwed on firmly today. Yet you won't be boringly sensible or drearily practical, so there's no danger of you having turned into a dry old stick overnight. It's a good day for keeping track of important details and processes, such as confirming a forthcoming appointment or filling in a form and then making a copy of it before sending it off.
