UPS announced this week that they will no longer donate any money to the Boy Scouts of America based on their policy of not allowing homosexuals to bully them in to including them in the BSA. The BSA, as of late has had its own problems with so called leaders abusing boys. Thats not what this is about. Its about the fact that the BSA has always had a strict policy concerning morality and Christian values.(see the BSA oath and law) http://www.scouting.org/sitecore/content/scou...
The long and short of it is that it's virtually impossible to be a boy scout and be gay. Well, UPS thinks that diversity includes accepting homosexuality, which is the biggest steaming load of bullshit ever...
I don't know if we, as morally upright citizens can do business with a corporation that seeks to tear down the moral fabric of our society. Why should we give money to a company that has cut off donation money to the only organization that proudly seeks to instill Christian values in our young men, and wants the gay agenda forced upon us?
Wake up people! Tell UPS that your shipping dollars are going to FedEx.

If you quit using any company that you disagreed with their policies or donations or whatever, you probably wouldn't be able to shop many places or eat many places.

It's your decision, but seems like you are making a big deal out of something that really doesn't matter.

I agree boycotting the largest package carrier will only hurt the economy, FedEx prices are higher and their deliveries aren't dependable.

Despite your typing error, your comment has merit! And USPS can't get a letter across a town the size of Bonham in less than 7 days!

I've been a UPS driver for 30+ years and most of the drivers do not agree with UPS stopping funding for the BSA. We have agreed to not fund UPS by not turning in sales leads. We have more power from the inside and hope UPS will change their mind. UPS would rather give to the Jerry Sandusky foundation than to the Boy Scouts-WOW!! ALL DRIVERS--NO SALES LEADS

The BSA is a private organization and can be selective in its membership. Likewise, UPS is not obligated to donate to any organization.

So Ron, UPS drivers all got together & agreed not to do part of your job in the hopes that UPS will lose business? Does their sales model rely solely upon delivery drivers for leads? Should the "sales lead withholding" scheme work, the good news is that UPS won't need as many drivers. Many of you will then be free to seek delivery driver opportunities that are more agreeable with your moral compass.

Meanwhile, why don't the drivers get together and collectively donate some of their own income to the BSA? That'll show UPS.

I SAID across Bonham, that is exactly what I meant, and and it is true. Yes, I've had out of town mail delivered in 2 days. However, mail that originates in Bonham to be delivered to a Bonham address is NOT sorted in Bonham. As a satellite location, Bonham mail goes out of town to be sorted, so the Bonham mail goes to ...Greenville or Dallas, I've heard it both ways....then, if the reciepiant is a Bonham address it gets shipped back to Bonham. Case in point, a water bill postmarked Oct 1st was delivered Oct 7th, payment mailed on Oct 7th and received at the water dept on Oct 16th. Another bill, mailed at the same time, was received in Dallas 2 days later.

That kind of mentality worked well for those employed by Hostess and looked where it got them. You don't have to agree with management or ownership you just have to do your job and earn your paycheck. Shame on you.

But you COULD have gotten your water bill paid (in person) in about 35 minutes....even if you had to put it in the night drop. DUH!(hand slapping forehead)

Slap harder. Let's all get in line and pay our water bills in person, that will improve wait time at their drive through!?!?!?!? Our office bills are paid via mail , with the exception of the water bill, which I now "drive through" after work. You missed the entire point. DUH!

Why pay an electric-bill in person or thru the mail? Takes just a few secs to do it on their website.

Because the company I work for does not allow on-line payments,
same as a lot of large companies. It may seem antiquated, but they require: approval of bill by accounting, which in turn submits a payment authorization which is then signed by administrator before checks are cut, then checks are signed by another authorized person, thereby it takes 3 people to make a single payment. Small office, big company.I don't make the rules, just follow them. I pay my personal bills on-line. However, back to the subject at hand. UPS is under no legally mandated obligation to help support ANY organization/charity. BSA has been covering up sexual abuse of children for decades, and may be using the funding cuts to draw attention away from the perverts who've been allowed to molest the young boys. The UPS driver who fails to do his job should be replaced.

You, like alot of folks like to misdirect and use projected tactics like that in order to obfuscate the entire point. The abuse the boys were subjected to were not their fault. You act as if they asked for it. What I don't understand is the closed minded jerks at UPS being bullies about it and saying we scouts have to include gay people. Its just like another poster said in another post. It's virtually impossible to be a gay boy scout, but in order to have any money donated from UPS we have to say being gay is OK? Well its not! UPS can keep their money and stick it up their ass, since they like being gay so much, they wouldn't mind that kind of thing.

Spin it! Of course the abuse victims were not at fault, how dare you even imply that I would think that! And since the male victims were abused by MALE leaders, it is obvious that BSA has HOMOSEXUAL PERVERTS among their numbers! How is an openly Gay monogamous leader who would NEVER abuse a child worse than some married Dad of a scout ....who rapes little boys??? UPS doesn't "owe" your organization a dime!

Sorry, FedEx sucks and no matter what the reason, they are made up of MORONS and could care less about the customer. I'll use UPS any day over anything from FedEx and will continue to boycott any company that refuses to ship with any other company BUT FedEx. They killed 6 of our pups because the drivers refused to read the signs all over our property DO NOT GO NEAR THE HOUSE.... took them to court, we won, and FedEx is no longer allowed on our property. It you want to support a trashy company like that over simple morals stated by one or two management officials, then go for it. NOT ME!!!!! I'm not supporting homosexuals either, but when I pay for a shipping service, I expect them to read and understand directions.
