No need to power a fridge in this weather. A cooler on the back porch will do

So sad! What ever happened to the days of helping your neighbor. Sharing food, diapers, helping with shoveling, whatever needed to be done. Just checking on your neighbor, family, & friends I guess today it is each man for himself. That's really sad!
I'm glad I raised my kids to help one in need.(within reason of course)

did you really think that out?

1. like was pointed out, not the point.

2. some foods should not be thawed and refrozen, do a simple graph of the temp since the ice storm.

3. ever hear of animals?

This is not surprising to hear of these thefts, about 10 years ago Maine had a bad ice storm and as I recall it was much worse. People had generators stolen all the time, but worse they put them in poorly thought out places and some people died from carbon monoxide poisoning.

What I dont understand is why in this day and age people do not protect themselves from these thieves. You can buy a motion detector that screws into a standard outdoor spot light fixture very cheap, chain the generator to something secure with a lock and the thieves wont walk, but run to an easier target. Put up no trespassing signs to cover yourself (though I doubt you need it) and with any luck at all the damn fool thieves will fall on the ice and break their necks.

In these tough times we need local legislatures to enact a new law that any one caught stealing a generator should receive a Mandatory Two Year prison sentence with no parole or time off for good behavior. You have to get tough with thieves in these tough economic times.

well said rad grandad, People have to learn that there is a very small percentage of low lifes in the world that will steal your eye teeth if they could. Protect yourself, assume the worst and prepare, prepare and protect.

I'd be willing to bet that when they find the truck that's got a stolen generator in it, it will have Mass plates.

Well, since this is NH, when you catch someone stealing your generator, you can just shoot them. No courts, no waste of taxpayers money. Just shot the bastards, and then ship them back to Massachusetts where they came from. lol
And then you can read all the posts from their girlfriends about how sweet they were, and how we didn't know them like they did, and how they would never do anything to hurt anyone. lol

I dug a six foot ditch around my genrator and camolflagued the ditch with limbs and leaves and pine needles. When the low life come, they will fall and get pierced with the limbs below that I shaped like spears.

Chain those generators down, but obviously be careful where...

Most people have been very good and helpful to one another, but you'll always have those few dirtbags out there.

Too bad there wasn't a way to send some of the generator's energy into these clowns. As soon as they go to grab it ZAP. Some sort of device that you can switch off so you can handle it, but no one that shouldn't be there.

I remember that story of those two clowns who were electrocuted while they were trying to steal copper wire from a high voltage area...idiots. Darwin award winners for sure.

Lowlifes from NH? Get a clue jerk off. There's a reason why your state has a thousand times more people in prison and on welfare. And dont forget, we're not the ones who had to have their guns taken away because we shot each other at the rate of a couple thousand a year.
None of my water comes from Mass, you fool. And as far as jobs go, if your state had anyone worth hiring, there wouldnt be any jobs when we went to apply. AND, its Mass people who are hiring us.Your're just a complete moron, arent you? LOL
