Wow! A shooting in Salem! I've been told that the field of dreams, such a beautiful place to bring small children, has been known as a place where shady drug transactions have taken place. I find it odd that no details can be found about the shooting. Was it self inflicted? With the weather we had on Saturday, I'd be surprised if there wasn't any small children there at the time of the shooting. Salem sure has changed over the years. It has become a haven for paving gypsies and there are people on my very street who are known heroin addicts. Plus, I suspect a meth party house in my neighborhood. Drugs, the bane of every community.

Was nearly a witness. Park was very crowded that day. Yes, wonderful weather. Wonderful park. Many children there that day. Almost completely certain it was a suicide attempt. Very very sad. Does anyone know if she is going to be O.K.? Shocking incident. Every other experience at this park has been pleasant.

She is a very beautiful girl and she will be missed. Things in the world happen for these unknown reasons and we never know why. It is such tragedy, I hope somehow everyone can get closure to this. But just know, she was an amazing person and she was never without a smile all the time I knew her and I hope to god that shes doing well up there, I know shes in a better place. I cannot help to feel sad though. Alexa I just want you to know that even though we were only aquaintances you are loved deeply and will be missed ever so greatly! You are beautiful and smart and intelligent and I wish you would have told someone. WE ALL LOVE YOU!

Maybe out of respect you should probably keep your obnoxious comments and "otherwise this park is GREAT" insensitive crap to yourselves. Thanks. We have enough to deal with. We don't need to read this crap.

We appreciate those of you with actual moral compasses that have left your condolences. Thank you, sincerely.

Listen, smartass, she was armed. It looks like she shot herself. That's very sad she chose to do something like that in a crowded area with families around.

My heartfelt prayers are with family and friends who knew her. This saddened me since it happened. I am very sorry to hear she passed but thank-you "a friend" who responded. I can only offer prayers. No disrespect intended, just did not want people to feel negative towards the park area. Very sorry and please accept my sympathy.

Gee, when I previously posted, the girl was said to be alive and there were no details to the shooting. I'm saddened that she took her own life. She was described as never without a smile but the poor girl had to be feeling very down inside, which she hid very well. May friends and family find peace.

We have many happy memories of this young lady. We watched her grow up, and over the years she was always happy and full of life. She was pretty, quick-witted and a joy to be around. This is a huge loss for all of us and a real tragedy. Those of us who were around her are better off for it.

many children out? it was pretty much dark when it happened. she wouldnt do it in front of kids. and keep the heartless comments out of this. if you didnt know her or it didnt affect you then you shouldn't be commenting at all. this is terrible. a 21 yr old girl is dead.no one knows why- or if they do, they're not saying anything. we are just all deeply saddened and a little angry. we miss her. we want our friend back.<3 the girl that we all knew who was smiling and happy without a care in the world..unless she was out of diet coke.
