".......You called me two hours later and asked for my address to send me a reward. Two weeks later I'm still waiting for a reward. I should have kept the wallet myself.
"

This is what ticks me off, people who want something in return for doing a good deed. I still hope the majority of us would have returned the wallet because it was the kind thing to do and we would want someone to do the same for us.

"The man at Fat Boys in Kissimmee finished eating and had to blow his nose before he left."

Who cares? Is this really the only thing in the world that ticks you off?

If that person who is ticked off about what fireman do, if they have never had to use one what makes them think they are slow?(BTW, they don't rescue cats anymore)

To the person who said all fireman do is rescue cats, etc: My husban risks his life everyday to save your sorry people like you. If people would stop calling 911 at 3 am for things like a sore toe, they might get to fires quicker. If you see a firetruck with their lights on get out of the way, or they will put that siren in your tailpipe.

A while back I found a purse in a shopping cart in the Casselberry Publix parking lot. I returned it to the store. I hope my reward will be if I lose something of value it will be found by another honest person!

Maybe what really ticked the person off was that they had to listen to bodily fluids sliding out of someones nose, all while trying to eat a meal. It's gross AND bad manners. That person could have waited until they were outside to blow their nose, or maybe should have done it in the bathroom.

If the only reason you returned the purse was for the reward, you're pathetic and doesn't deserve being called a human being. You should have been satisfied returning the purse because it was the right thing to do. I really wouldn't want a greedy thing like you as a friend.

"I found a lady's purse in the parking lot by Florida Mall. I looked for you two hours and couldn't locate you. I left my number in your purse and took it back to the store. You called me two hours later and asked for my address to send me a reward. Two weeks later I'm still waiting for a reward. I should have kept the wallet myself."

Nice attitude.

Hell, one time I found Howard Hughes's wallet in a Howard Johnson's. I called and he said he'd send me a million dollars for returning the wallet. I'm still waiting.....should have kept the wallet.

Sorry to confuse you. I was making fun of the idiot who found the purse and expected a reward.

That's ok, I thought you thought I made the comment in the first place, It would be much easier to quote something if we had the ability to put it in italics to seperate it from our comments.....

I thought about that but was, and still am, too lazy to make it more legible. I do agree with you that expecting a reward in return for doing the right thing demonstrates a huge flaw in character. Also demonstrates a flaw in intellect when they actually write it in public.

"I've never had to use a fireman in 40 years. By the time they get to your house, it has burned anyway. All they do is sit around the firehouse shooting pool, rescuing cats or irritating folks with their siren."

Yup, they definately have YOU in mind when they run the siren. No point, I suppose, in telling you to be grateful you've never had to use their services.

Go back to your trailer and don't drive. Apparently you didn't get the memo, you're brain dead.

To the woman who found the lost purse. The lady whose purse you found may not have paid you back, but I'm sure she'll pay it forward and help at least one person in the same way without expecting anything in return. Had you not expected something in return you would have been paying it forward. Any good karma that would have come your way was lost by your petulance. It's too bad that you couldn't just feel good about doing a random act of kindness.

Yup, I was a firefighter for 30 years with Orlando. All we ever did was shoot pool, rescue cats and irritate people with that damn siren. Yup...that's all we ever did.
Maybe, we did a few house, apartment, commercial, and even a few trailer fires, every so often. And then there was that thing we did on occasion....I'm trying to think of what its called....anyway...you go to a house, apartment, business, or trailer and like...help people who have heart attacks or are shot or just really ill. Oh, and then there's that auto accident thing but I guess that doesn't count. The kids who drown in lakes and pools don't count either..not too many of them either.
And... I'm wondering what the hell is wrong with rescuing a cat? At least they don't bitchh about all the stuff they think we don't do.

Maybe you haven't needed a fireman in 40 years but when you do you WILL be thankful. I haven't needed one for 46 years but I know they would drop what they were doing if I needed them. I am glad they have a way to relax. Don't complain if YOU can't walk in their AMAZING shoes. Russell
