Hwy.31, especially the section from Spring Street to Hwy. 11 is a daily, multiple traffic hazard. Driving there at the speed limit is rare.
It means being honked at repeatedly.
Cell phones must distract drivers in
that heavy traffic.
Road rage is more frequent than accidents.
Mount Pleasant has no device to monitor
the air quality. The air should meet
Federal Standards.
Seat belts?
I live 5 minutes away and will avoid 31 however I can.
I am a former 'honker'. My lesson was learned via an off-duty county a sheriff. I honked back at a 'regular car' w/ that sheriff at the wheel.
I shut-up!; and, did get a ticket for disorderly
conduct and driving too close. The police that came said I had embarrassed him. That burly hunk of law enforcement's screams were as loud as a firetruck. His aggression and lack of judgement could not be a first-time occurence.
Why isn't 31 more controlled? I do not feel safe around the police for some time. GOTO Mt. Pleasant Town Hall and see if you can an accurate answer to questions. Talk to your friends about how they drive; how you drive. Maybe, we have the answers. Authority is out of vogue.
Thanks,
Not so 'Mt. Pleasant.
