McReynolds put Jails before Schools and Taxes soar!
Our property taxes went up because Mr. McReynolds took the school
money to build a $29 million dollar jail. Worse yet, the yearly operating
costs to run that jail will eat us up. Every home owner is in jeopardy. If You
do not pay your taxes to pay for the jail, you will lose your home. Three of
my neighbors have already lost their homes to foreclosure. Seniors are hurt
the most. They are on fixed incomes. The McReynolds jail house mentality
for solving social problems is costing people their homes. Plus There was
no public referendum for this big public expenditure. When you build a
school, you have a referendum so we all have some in put. But not when
you build a jail under McReynolds.
It got him elected but it did not solve the problem. The jails are failing to
stop crime. The schools are failing to train an employable work force. The
kids can't read or convert a fraction into a decimal to run a lathe.
McReynolds does not have the education or the common sense to look at a
problem in a factual way. He says he saves taxpayers money. It is just not
true. The facts show quite the opposite. Foreclosures are at an all time
record while he has been running the county. Property taxes have gone way
up, that is the school tax, seventy percent in some cases to make up for the
shortfall. He created. The McReynolds mileage scandal "Getting caught
fudging on his gas mileage." was either deliberate, inadvertent, or he is just
plain confused by numbers. In any case people are losing their homes. We
all have to pay for his poor judgment, and lack of vision in higher taxes.
Isn't it too bad some of that money could not be put into a fund to help the
people who are losing their homes in the Bush foreclosure crisis?
With his record for steering county business to companies he owns, I would
not be surprised Mr. McReynolds is the general contractor for the new jail
some how.
Poor Racine instead having the most up to date school system in the state
will have the distinction of having the most modern jail, a shameful claim to
fame with so many peoples lives at stake.
McReynolds is no friend to West Racine, Seniors, home owners or Taxpayers.
I am voting for the other guy. I understand he is a Certified Public Accountant and has experience in allocating funds in private
industry.
