The parents of this child should face charges. If an adult is irresponsible and drives drunk and kills someone it is vehicular manslaughter, if an adult is irresponsible enough to leave a loaded gun in reach of a child they deserve to be treated the same way. They murdered their own child. Living with that guilt is not a punishment!

Really?! The day that poor child passes is the day you decide to rant?! God have mercy on your criticizing soul! Rest in peace sweet angel, RES 3rd graders just got their own personal guardian angel.

It's not a rant, just stating a fact. I feel horrible for all involved in this, especially those children at your child's school that have to face such a harsh reality. But had his parents been responsible adults this whole sad day would have never taken place. And God doesn't need to have mercy on my soul, those parents should pray he has mercy I'm their souls. I would not know what to do if I lost a child. But I can guarantee it will NEVER be because I am dumb enough to let them have access to a loaded firearm to play with.
