The fact that you may not know members of your police force indicate one of two things: either they are doing their job very effectively, or you're not getting into enough trouble to have them come and introduce themselves to you. Which one would you say applies to you, Mr(s). Humane Humanity?
I suggest that if you truly wish to get to know Mary Beth, simply stop by the police department and say hello to wish her well. And while I'm at it, congratulations Mary Beth on your appointment as interim Chief. I hope that the selectboard makes this a permanent position for you, which will surely benefit the town of Vernon.

Sounds like to much testosterone in the posts and in Vernon which proves that rumor about nuking you manhood. How many tenors are there in the Vernon choir. Best of luck in that town because the high number of scholastic intelligent "mensa" club members that show up to knock done the town with their knowledge. They never show up if it is to help just to &itch. The reason that chief Hebert hasn't been seen is Vernon is such a metropolis and she has been in disguise hiding in a mark cruiser and in a police uniform to throw off the town. So now you may be thrown off by the abnormal amount of female officers. Starting tomorrow you should start focusing on what is around you and stop looking at your self in the make up mirror and sexting & texting and put down the sandwich and coffee [apply beer ] if necessary. Well, then who steps in with this, with a dysfunction police department and dysfunctional select board...I suppose it is the state’s attorney. They are so deep in this it is pathetic. Then you get down the budget problems of the judicial system...how fragile is order and justice in our lives? How fragile is order with this sense of the creeping intensification of priorities and local, state and federal budget limitations. I talk my brains off about what we think we can afford...that false and dangerous rationalization is the weak links could collapse our society and its order.

It is just as likely we would get a series of weak signals that priorities and budgets limitation has entered a extremely dangerous zone...with a cascade collapse is just around the corner. Don’t be lulled that we will have a lot of intense warnings that big troubles are on the way because of the intensification of priorities. The way these huge dynamic systems work in the USA, we desperately hide out problems to protect our self interest and we have become experts at superficially repairing small leaks in the dam with duck tap and bailing wire fixes.

Funny that you would mention the duck tape, did you ever read the Book Bag Balm & Duct Tape by Dr. Conger about Windsor Vt?

The same is true with budgets and local small police depts in the good old boy network.

Maybe things will work out all we can hope for.

Mike and I had lunch the other day, when he confessed he was the ringleader of the Vernon conspiracy. This secret society has been working to weaken the fabric of Vernon, and by extension the nuclear power plant that rejected him so many years ago.

Mike is looking to join the Vernon PD as a counterinsurgent plant, in order to further his cause from the inside. His directions are coming from his contacts at the NSA, contacts he made back during his days in the naval reserve. Wish the deluded one well; he needs our strength.

No, it's that in every instance that I have had to call the police department Chief Beth has not been the responding officer. Nor do I recall ever seeing her in a crusier. I guess I will have to keep a better look out and expect to see her now that she is the new chief.
