What is meant by "doesn't fit into the basic school curriculum"? This news story never clarifies that. I believe that the objections from parents are probably motivated by religious beliefs, namely christian narrow minded thinking. The christians will always object to anything that is not 100% Jesus. Hopefully their children will not grow up to be such self-disempowering people living such a falsehood. It is such a shame that going see a film can make some parents so nervous. We're not talking about an xxx rated movie but of a christmas classic. I myself don't care for the film much but I would not censor it nor would I forbid my children to go. I know that I have raised my children to be thinking individuals who's lives don't become altered by the viewing of a fantasy based movie. I apologize if I am off base when I suspect that this controversy is being perpetrated by christian fundamentalists, but the fact of how ridiculous this is and the fact they the school is "hiding" what their "basic school curriculum is" is a very good indication of christian censorship and bullying at work again.

I don't think that the fundamentalists are behind this - pay attention to the principal's statement.

Christians had NOTHING to do with this. In fact the Winchester Multiculteral Network had a Meeting with the principle in order to voice their objections to the field trip. This is a Marxist like organization who wants to further it's agenda by attacking American heritage and traditions. So Thomas, due a little research before slinging arrows.

It is Because of Christians. I did do the research. Since Christians are expert hypocrits they actually start to believe their own lies, resulting in living in their own fake world where they do nothing wrong and hence don't feel accountable for their actions.
