Assuming an anonymous tip can support reasonable suspicion for pulling the car over in the first place, this guy is going away for a long time! But conviction or not, we got a gun and a bunch of drugs off the street. Nice ork LPD!

Kidding, great guy. He's always doing something, jumping in the river to save people, running people down. Great PO. And a jarhead too.
And "stupid" I'm pretty sure Hanson is not fat, in fact I'm sure he's in better shape than you.

Every time someone gets a drug possession charge, it's "in a school zone". I don't think there is a single square foot in the city that is not in a school zone.

The school zone statute defines a school zone as the area within 1,000 feet of a school, which is roughly 2/10 of a mile. It is measured in straight line distance, not the distance riding over a street, and measures from the edge of the school property to the place the offense happened. Lowell is so densely populated and so compact that there's only a few very small places that are not within 1,000 feet of at least 1 school. South Whipple is within 1,000 feet, straight line distance from the schools on Gorham Street, and possibly also the school off of Boylston. Most cities are the same situation: drug dealing almost anywhere within city limits will be in a school zone as defined by the law.

Judge Walker will probably let this poor misunderstood person out on his own recognizance then give him a slap on the wrist. Why send anyone to jail when you can give him a social worker, psychologist and other bleeding heart liberals who will help him turn his life around. We need a new stimulus plan. A plan that would be used to build one thousand jails.
