I reside in Malden and also work in Malden. I have recently had some issus with the building departments inspectors from pulling a permit to the actual inspection. It seems that they are always on vacation or unavailable whenever someone needs to get a permit or other building services. I have read some negative things about mr. Scott Fitzpatrick and now have experienced firsthand what people were saying about him. He is very strict and rigid with the contractors working in Malden. He makes a big deal aout insignificant things and makes people pay re-ispection fees constantly, yet the work done on his own property isnt held to the same standards that everyone else is held to. Has anyone else had similar experiences as I?

Fitzpatrick along with several other inspectors tagged my former landlord for illegal building wiring and plumbing violations because of failing to obtain permits and he did not hire licensed professionals to do the work that was done. Fitzp(rick and the City of Malden's actions were justified! Nguyen was made to get permits and hire licensed professionals and do the work correctly. The negative comments from a different post was probably made by Nguyen's sister who lives in Malden and was responsible for the illegal work being done without a permit although she blamed it all on the previous owner.

What about illegal wiring? You don't think that this is dangerous and could hurt someone? If a permit isn't obtained and licensed professionals aren't hired, someone is just cutting corners out of greed and selfishness and only thinking of themselves and not the safety and well being of others. If the building inspector is involved chances are other department inpectors are too.

How is Fitpatrick supposed to help the community? By looking the other way? By not fining people after they break the law? And what community are you talking about? The Asian community? If he's so bad how come you are complaining here? He has a boss. What about the holes that were drilled on the outside of the house that were lined up with the electric outlets so nguyen could run wiring off of the outlets for an outdoor porch light and an outdoor sensor light? You think this is what should be condoned? If the city of Malden didn't go after Nguyen and other violators then this is what would hurt the community. Extra fees? Some people should be thankful they are not criminally charged and sitting in jail.

Anyone remember an inspector named Bill? He used to send out orders to correct and line his son up for electric jobs for the people he wrote up then if a tenant was in Court with the landlord this Bill would stick up for the landlord. this guy Bill was the City's liason between the Board of Health and the Court. What a racket. the Court was also pro landlord for a reason Glad this Bill left the BOH

Isn't that just too bad that you are fed up. You are a con artist who expects City Gov to cover for you after you trample all over peoples rights that you take rent and a security deposit from You know enough to flee Nam and seek hombrage here Did you ever think that people are fed up with you? A corrupt City government isn't always going to save you. But thanks for the intel on the Post Office, the Fire department, the Police Department, and the Mayors office Nice to know that these agencies won't do for the less fortunate but will cater to the greedy selfish pigs of the world who think this country owes them something, like allowing them to build, wire and plumb without permits and not helping the tenant obtain reimbursement for out of pocket expenses and the diminishment of their quality of life for a non natural born US citizen who has a game plan to screw everyone in her path Nice to know our City does not work for us.

I did illegal wiring and rigged cameras up to monitor my tenant after she fell and was injured I only installed the cameras because the pictures she has proves I compromised the area by moving the location of the handrail. I have my electrician lie and say there was no cross wiring even though the tenant has had two other licensed electricians prove cross wiring but Mr Chris help me out Mr Scott take me to court because I perform illegal work and didn't get permis and used Asian handymans I millionaire and should be able to do what I want to people I don't care about anyone else but myself I have my investment to protect I don't care what I cost you Mr scott don't give me order to pay you for your loss Sue if you don't like it but City will cover me

Who checks on the work the building inspector does around the city of Malden, his own property, shouldn't it be the State inspector? How was he able to run a construction business out of his house when no one else can without going through the city? How did he get a permit to sell used cars on Eastern Avenue. There are no checks and balances in this city, hoping Mayor Christian can do this for the people of Malden.

Just asking but why wouldnt Fitzpatrick have the legal right to own a business? How is he running a business out of his home in a residential neiborhood while he is on the job as Inspector? Are commercial trucks being dispatched after hours prohibited by City ordinance ( 9 Pm to 7 AM)? Is he Bob the Builder and constructing after 9 or 10 PM? Just tryong to understand what's going on Is Fitzpatrick the only inspector in the Building Dept? Why call the State? Isnt Simonelli in charge of all Inspectionall Services in Malden? Why can't you contact him? Put it in writing to make a record Good Luck

Do you think Chris Simonelli would really make him change anything. He can work on his own house but has been known to work on other houses in the city including his girlfriend's, who also works for the city,(who gave him those permits and did someone outside of Malden do the inspection?) and he is not suppose to work on them as city inspector, only his own property. He has shut down other people who have run businesses out of their homes, know this for a fact, they have been heavily fined by the city for this, google Fitzpatrick Construction or Scott Fitzpatrick. Is he doing business for the used cars while on city time, you know he is, I am sure it is not only a "weekend hobby."

Sorry disgustedtoo but I don't really know that much about Fitzpatrick I am a tenant whose former landlord did illegal work before renting to me and Fitzpatrick made the owner gut out down to the studs and replace illegal wiring and plumbing this happened within the first month of my moving in My apartment was uninhabitable My issue with Fitzpatrick is that he changed his mind about an illegally added room and left it as is . It is not insulated and the room is an ice box in the winter. He did not order the owner to vacate us as tenants and place us in a hotel nor did he order abatement or reimbursement of out of pocket expenses. The situation made me homeless and cost me out of pocket expenses such as storage while the *#a** continued to collect rent and demand a security deposit These are the issues I have with Fitpatrick and the City of Malden who are now determined to cover up the matter As a result of the renovations a plumber from Malden water dept landed work for the former owner at one of their other properties
