I didn't see in the Winchester Sun, but I'm told this funeral home is up for foreclosure or being sued. Is that true, and why?

I find that hard to believe. You couldn't find a more caring or professional funeral director than Roland. And he gets most of the business in town.

I agree with Jack, very caring and professional service. However, I too, saw the notice of a suit filed by mortgage company against the funeral home. Hopefully all can be settled without foreclosure.

I agree also with the other post. He provided services for a recent death of a beloved member of our family and those services were very professional and this man (Roland Taylor) has human compassion beyond measure.Hope the Roland G. Taylor Funeral Home will be around for a long time.

called Roland in December and asked that he call me when services were scheduled for our Mother, Mabel Snowden Clark who passed away in VA in December. Not only did he not notify our entire side of the family, but denied that I even made the phone call. a bold faced lie; BBB complaint was filed and of course he is not a member of the BBB.

Our entire side of the family did not have a chance to attend...up to 24 people possible, many having to travel from as far away as AZ.

Fore closure could not happen to a more deserving jerk-weed.

just who is mean here, me for posting the truth or Roland for denying the opportunity for a loving family to insure and participate in a proper burial for our loving Mother?

Why didn't you communicate with your Uncle Bill or Aunt Peggy? If what you say is true, it is very sad.

I didn't know that Funeral Directors made arrangements. I thought the family was responsible to do so perhaps with the help and guidance of the Director and I am sure it is not the responsibility of the Director to notify entire families. I'm pretty sure thats the way it is at all Funeral Homes not just Rolan Taylor. I am truly sorry for the loss of your loving Mother and I know the feeling. I have loss both of my loving parents.

"Why didn't you communicate with your Uncle Bill or Aunt Peggy?"

did so; sneaky Bill's answer was if I wanted to know when the services were I should have called the funeral home.

Well, the point is that as stated I asked and got a commitment from Roland to call me when services were planned. My brother even wrote a letter requesting info on the services. He was not notified either.

another thing, the obit mentioned the services having taken place prior to publishing the obit. did not mention even the day that the services occurred.

the rub is... sneaky bill said the hardest part of the services was him having to explain why the children were not there to insure proper burial. He never said what his explanation was.

Now, I can understand sneaky bill and his motives. he is CINO, Christian in name only and a sociopathic narcissistic idiot, what I cannot understand is his wife going along with this charade as she professes her Christianity with almost every breath and seems to not have a mean streak; have only experienced extreme kindness from the lady.

"responsible to do so perhaps with the help and guidance of the Director and I am sure it is not the responsibility of the Director to notify entire families"

would it be going too much out of director's way to notify at least one person in the line of descendants and then that one person could notify the rest of the children??

how can you hold a funeral and more than half the family cannot attend because they had not a clue as to date and time.??

maybe it makes sense in Winchester but it is beyond the pale of understanding and logic.

If what you say is true, it is very sad.

one could not make something as insensitive as this up.

If you were at the funeral service, you would have noticed an enigma: no direct descendants were in attendance for a lady who had 24 descendants to attend to her burial. this should be all the proof you need.

Doesn't Joshua live in Richmond?

Rolan's funeral home is just fine. Only jealous people want him to go out of business. Read the obituaries...people have become smarter and they are using one of the best funeral homes around...Rolans!!!! When you go there, you are actually treated good. Plus, the funeral home is beautiful and comfortable.
