Hey all, I have a problem and would like some other people's thoughts about this minor but bothersome problem. I have been married for 22 years. My husband works his butt off everyday, we have an awesome sex life BUT, his hands are dry and cracked from working and when he touches me or we are making love and he starts rubbing me he scratches me from where his hands are so rough and callused, I have bought him lotion and suggest he use lotion on his hands but he won't, how do I tell this wonderful hardworking husband of mine that he's hurting me and it doesn't feel good and ruins the mood because his hands are so rough, without hurting him? I love him and don't want to hurt his feelings, I appreciate his hard work but I need to figure out how to fix this, so we can both be happy in the bedroom, thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts and opinions.

If you have been married for that long you should be able to just tell him.

Have him do this before you go to sleep put lotion on his hand then put rubber gloves on then take off in the morning. Worked in concrete for 15 yrs this will help

I think the answer will depend on your relationship and what works best for you. I would approach it with humor and then some fun role playing. Give him 10 one dollar bills and pretend to be his Lil manicure specialist. Loofah with sea salts pile on an ultra rich lotion and put his hands in dish gloves. Tell him that will be $2 and then let him find some other service to purchase for the remaining $8 then after performing the second service (the fun one) remove the gloves and excess lotion
Keep it fun

I say if the man works that hard...then just appreciate his rough hands and know that they are that way just for you...

Burt's Bee's Hand Salve for Farmer's is EXCELLENT for dry, cracked, overworked hands. Plus, it doesn't feel like lotion and has a pleasant smell. Hope this helps!

Try some lotion made with hemp oil. Seriously, best lotion you can buy.

If you explain how uncomfortable it makes you he will probably try any of the remedies listed.

give him a manicure every week.. when you put lotion on your hands, put enough on for him too, then rub his hands with yours, make it a routine to lotion up after a shower and washing hands. Winter time drys them out worse. My hubby's used to be rough, but doing those things has made them softer. .. Hope this helps

the best cure is the rubber gloves at night but using Vaseline only, it has no perfumes or other irritable ingredients. Itís guaranteed to work over night.
Youíre welcome.

Sounds like you two can be open . He could baby oil gloves massaging you! ;). Just don't slide to much.
