Like an idiot I was caught driving without insurance in Winchester. I did purchase insurance the day of the ticket. I've heard of a diversion program and am just wondering how they usually treat first time no insurance offenders in Winchester. What is my best action plan? And just in case anyone wants to bash on me for this, I am aware of how wrong it is and I am extremely humiliated and will never make the same mistake.

Depends on what judge you get, and how their day has been. If you purchased the insurance before the ticket and didn't have proof you'll get off free as a bird. If you purchased it after you got the ticket, the judge depending on his/her mood may let you off. Good luck.

I got a ticket for no insurance 1 time -1st offense. My fine with court costs totaled right about $650 and the judge gave me 6 months to pay it.

Diversion is easy. I just got out of it for the same thing. Inform them that you don't have a job, and it's 100% free!

Am I the only one who thinks it sucks that because I work, I have to pay fines and if I didn't it would be 100% free?

Clearly you can't detect sarcasm, moron. I lied to them, and avoided any fees.

Clearly you then understand, moron, that it can be done - and shouldn't. But way to cheat the system, we'll pick it up for you!

Diversion is a program that ensures that the "offender" maintains insurance for a designated amount of time. I paid for that insurance during my time in diversion. That seems to be enough of a fee in my eyes. I'm not really sure what you picked up for me, but thanks.

Carrying insurance isn't a fee or fine, it's a mandatory requirement for driving in KY, so check your eyes. You have to carry it ALL year, and what we pick up for people like you that drive without insurance is the bill and increased premiums when you have liability for the accident.
You really can't lie your way out of everything. You drive, you pay insurance to cover your liability (whether you're working or lying about not working).

You clearly do not understand sarcasm.

"Diversion is easy. I just got out of it for the same thing. Inform them that you don't have a job, and it's 100% free!"

Not even a drip of sarcasm in that paragraph.

That is all...
