Sounds like a good idea. Are you a female or male? The military has good benefits and if you have your kid they have a+ schools on base, plus you get to see places you never have before or will see. Call a recruiter

Also you can go to college on the army's dime after you get out if you want to. If not, it's easier to get a good job with a defense contractor or work as a civilian for the military.

I am not going to go to the army. I am thru with the idea for good. I talked to my family about this and I was adviced not to go to the army. SO please disregard this thread. I refigured my income and I will not breakdown in my finances right now, thanks to everyone who responded to this thread on topix:)

Just want to clarify what I mean. I do get tired from time to time of having to do the finances alone with no help, but I have done it for almost 2 years alone so I guess I will continue to do it. I wont breakdown in my finances right now I refigured things last night. Sorry I started this thread just disregard.

I was sick and tired of Winchester and had no future. Running with losers. They all thought I was crazy for joining the Army. Now I make about 4 times what some of my old "buddies" make. The Army SAVED MY LIFE! I lived in Germany and had a BLAST. Toured France and saw a lot of the US. It's tough but makes you tough and you get used to the BS. There is going to be BS at any job. I would do it all over it was the best 4 years of my life and made the rest of my life soooo much better. Any young person who is looking at a bleak future and thinking about it DO IT!
It's not for everyone. You'll miss the ones you love and at times it's a bi#%! You have to take orders and bite your tongue but all I know is how much it changed my life. Do your best to get a specialty you can use when you get out. Not just an infantry man or cannon cocker. Go into medical or computers/ electronics or something. CONSIDER THE AIR FORCE. It is much more comfortable. Take advantage if any college benefits you can get. Ok off my soapbox.
