the real concern is how did they get all the illegal items inside the jail? extremely poor search skills by the jailers or they were not searched at all. or some jailers brought those items into the inmates

Why is it everyone is so quick to blame the deputy jailers? Maybe everyone should be blamed that goes in there. The teachers, social workers, ministers, police officers, deputy sheriffs, parole officers, pretrial, the people from the court house, heck lets just blame them all. See you didn't know that all of those people and more are in and out of that jail every day but it is easier for you to throw the blame on the people that work there!! More to the point, if someone is getting the stuff in to the jail and you or anyone else knows who they are why don't you do the right thing and report it. No that won't happen, it's too easy to blame the people that work there! Why don't you suggest a solution to the problem and stop making your accusations?

All the people you just attempted to pass the buck onto are not employees of the CCDC. They are not responsible for searches or for the security of the jail, the Deputies are. Once a person enters the detention center they are in sole custody of the jail. Even if a cop did perform a poor search, the arrestee is searched again by the Deputy. When people like Cops, Attorneys, Parole Officers, and persons with pretrial do come into the Jail, they go through the Booking area and only go to one assigned room and have no access to the actual pods where the inmates are lodged and it has a camera in it also. You can’t catch everything because unlike the movies you do not get strip searched every time you get searched, you get a pat down of your outer garments, so contraband in your mouth, anus and private areas are rarely REALLY searched. One idea would be to tighten up on policies to when an inmate is searched like, Trustees who go outside to smoke and empty the trash, weekend inmates and work release persons When it comes to the blame, it’s just like any job. You blame the Mgmt.
