I was recently informed by a Kids Discovery Center employee that on January 30, 2013 a preschool child was left on their daycare van for 4 hours. The children were loaded on the van and taken to preschool and this child was overlooked and not found until later that afternoon when the driver went to pick up the children from preschool. When this child was found she had soiled her pants and they had to be washed by the daycare. The mother was lied to about what actually happened to the child and there were no consequences for the women driving the van. And the Director, Kristy Aldridge is fully aware of what happened and chooses to turn her head at this issue. OUTRAGEOUS!!! Would you want your children at this daycare?

Demand an investigation and change in or enforcement of procedures that will ensure this will not happen again. We due the children no justice by failing to fix the problem but rather sweep it neatly under a rug

I doubt this is true, but if it were who would investigate? Her cop husband and all his friends? This would not get very much investigation, just saying.

Why isn't the mother outraged? Why isn't she contacting the news outlets? Something seems a little fishy that this happened supposedly three months ago and the only notice it is getting is three posts on topix? I hope it is just a rumor. hmmm

I'd say it didn't get investigated because the directors husband is a cop. That's how things are handled in a small town.

Makes sense why it didn't get investigated by the police but doesn't make sense why the mom didn't do anything else about it. I know if it were my kid I would be on the 6 O'clock news screaming my head off about it. No way the local good ole boys can do anything about that. Cant stop you from writing in to the opinion column of the newspaper..or calling social services and having the driver investigated by them for neglect or abuse because that is a separate agency not controlled by the police department. IDK..small town justice. Its a lot about who ya know or who ya blow sometimes.

Stuff like this needs to brought to Office of Inspector generals office or state in daycare terms. I work in child care, they would investigate... It would be taken care of!

What evidence do we have this isn't pure hearsay? Perhaps to drive business to a competitor?

Animal Krackers local day care employees Josephine Born arrested for DUI. Why would day care's employ criminals?

TRUST ME... we have followed alll the necessary steps n evn outside the box.... at another daycare, ive been there wen stat came in. as they pulled in, the owner went over the walkies sayin fix stuff, states here!!! even had to make a different dinner cuz wat they were serving was not state approved... over capacity, understaffed and most jus dont give a dam. its jus a job who cares? ive worked at alot of the daycares here... ive seen 1st hand abuse, neglect.... so on... by some staff but mainly parents... n the staff wouldnt wann turn the parents in... loss of income i guess!!! ive called social services on my own fone wen theyve ignored my concerns or complaints. i wouldnt put my kids in daycare if it was free.... i hate clark county daycares for the most part. theyre a joke!!!! n how the heck do u forget a kid in the van??? n not go to jail??? system is sooooo twisted.. guess it is all about who u kno n who u blow huh?

A couple years ago in Milwaukee, the exact same thing happened, but it was in the summer, and the child died because of the heat in the SUV. He was 4 months old, and the only child in the vehicle. His case, along with a couple other ones spurred new laws making it possible to charge daycare workers with negligent homicide in cases like this. If you search on kids left in daycare vehicles, it happens quite frequently actually. Sad sad situation. I am glad the child in this thread is safe, others were not so lucky. If I was the parent, I would be heading right to the DA myself.
