I love Glycerine by Bush (one of the few more modern songs I know)
I'm never alone, I'm alone all the time
Are you at one or do you lie
We live in a wheel where everyone steals
But when we rise, it's like strawberry fields

If I treated you bad, you bruise my face
Couldn't love you more, you got a beautiful taste

“If it's too loud, yer too old.”

I Dare You - Shinedown

Hello, let me intoroduce you to the characters in the show, one says yes, one says no.
Decide, which voice in your head you can keep alive.
Even in madness you still believe,
paint me on canvas so I become what you could never be.
I dare you to tell me to walk through fire,
wear my soul and call me a liar.

Sticking with a theme:
Oingo Boingo--Insanity

Like a wave we cannot see
Washing over you and me
Hiding here and hiding there
Madness hiding everywhere
Such a curiosity
Here it comes to set us free
Plenty left for you and me
Say hello insanity

I am the virus, are you the cure?

You may be right
I may be crazy
But it just might be a lunatic you're looking for :)

Far Behind - Candlebox

Now maybe I didn't mean to treat you bad but I did it anyway.
And now maybe some would say your life was sad but you lived it anyway.
And now maybe your friends they stand beside, they watch you crumble as you falter to the ground.
And now maybe your friends they stand beside you as you were flying, oh you were flying oh so high.

I would have selected this song from Phantom of the Opera. Norman reminds me of his character

Child of the wilderness
Born into emptiness
Learn to be lonely
Learn to find your way in darkness

Who will be there for you
Comfort and care for you
Learn to be lonely
Learn to be your one companion

Never dreamed out in the world
There are arms to hold you
You've always known your heart was on its own

So laugh in your loneliness
Child of the wilderness
Learn to be lonely
Learn how to love life that is lived alone

I'm not a religious person but these are some of my favorite lyrics:

When we've been there 10,000 years
Bright shining as the sun
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Then when we first become

Amazing Grace...how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me

I also love this one:

I won't have to chop no wood
I can be bad or I can be good
I can be anything that I want
One of these days

Might be a woman that's dressed in black
Be a hobo by the railroad track
I'll be gone like the wayward wind one of these days

One of These Days by Emmylou Harris - she's one of my favorites....

This last song reminded me of Big Rock Candy Mountain (hobo reference)

In the Big Rock Candy Mountains
You never change your socks
And the little streams of alcohol
Come trickling down the rocks
The brakemen have to tip their hats
And the railway bulls are blind
There's a lake of stew
And of whiskey too
You can paddle all around it
In a big canoe
In the Big Rock Candy Mountains

So sorry
That should have been:
"When we first begun" instead of "become".
When we were little my mom would play some of her old vinyl records for us. She kept them all from the time she was a teenager. One of her favorites was a song that she sang all the time.
Are you ready?
Here it comes.
Very profound lyrics.
Here goes:
Duke, Duke, Duke of Earl, Earl, Earl
Duke of Earl
As I walk through this world
Nothing can stop me
The Duke of Earl
I still love that song. The catchy tune and the cheesey words stick in my brain. My mom would sing it constantly. I really do love songs with more meaningful lyrics but I had to throw that one in.
