This place seems nothing more than legalized drug dealing. Its bad enough ppl are having to drive to florida or ohio to score but at least that makes it a little inconvenient. Now opening one in our backyard with all the overdoses and drug related arrests seems like the money they are earning off each patient (junkie)is only a form of drug dealing . The staff there are selling their souls and will one day be held accountable for everyone they got addicted. They are selling their souls.

The Facts I Just Got

Morehead, KY

#6 Mar 27, 2011
I have been a long term chronic pain sufferer for going on ten years. Recently I wanted to change doctors as mine was starting to worry me (made many mistakes, talking out of his head, just not good!)

The clinic in Winchester is only one of many this outfit runs. My only experience so far has been on the phone with the clinic in Winchester which is also a Weight Loss Center as well as Pain Mng.

Info (for Pain sufferers):

Search around and there are some Topix reviews of this place. As far as I care they are NOT a "pill mill".#1 They are VERY difficult to get into for pain, they often say they are filled up.#2: In my case I finally called again and quickly told the lady I was already a chronic pain patient getting meds from my PCP- She asked me several times if I had ever gone out of state for pain pills (no- never!). She took down all of my personal information, including cause of pain and meds I am now on.

I was lucky to be able to make an appointment, and they have many screens, and hoops to jump through. On my first visit they are suppose to MRI the area of my pain which is from a botched operation done in 2000 - yet no doctor could ever prove my source of pain, but it seems I suffer from "Center Pain Syndrome" which got started due to damage to a nerve from an old operation. The pain is 24/7 and has wrecked my life. There are millions like me that need help and can not find it. I prefer a CURE over pills any day, I really do.

This Winchester Clinic drug tests, does random pill counts, watches Kasper and I guess...other state prescription monitoring data bases for signs of abuse. Unlike the real pill mills down in Florida this place accepts credit and debit cards, while true pill mills keep it strictly cash only. These days many popular medical insurance places refuse to pay for pain clinics, and/or the meds they might prescribe.

Based on all the information I cold gather they are difficult to get into for pain, and they ARE taking steps to stop dealers and abusers from going there. Also due to the hundreds of $$$ it costs and the amounts of meds I hear they may prescribe, there is no profit motive at all. I feel they are legit and doing all they can to avoid pain pill dealers and abusers.

The gov doesn't care who do drugs as long as your buying the pills from them and not the drug dealers, it just goes to show you how greedy we are as a country, you know that in newyork 8 out of 10 people have a prescription for oxycodone(percocet), it's truly scary how fast things are going bad in this country, I can see a complete destruction in the near future, and the sad thing is there really isn't anything we can do about it....

New Pain Patient

Grayson, KY

As a new pain patient I ask any present or previous patients/workers to advise if I should even bother going back for my second visit. My first appointment was not great. The new doctor listen well and seemed to of taken pages of notes and seemed smart and nice. However I was prescribed a new scan (my guts) and Tramadol for pain after being prescribed hard opiates for many years from my main doctor who advised me to try a pain clinic. I had to go through withdrawal and my pain is making this month drag on forever. I have NO INSURANCE and my pain has caused me to get fired multiple times. I only want even part of my previous pain-free life, I'm middle age and never thought I would be in so much pain with no test that can prove the source. I thank God for my family and friends for their help.

I understand that Dr Finch was a good doctor and recently left. I think my first visit was with their new doctor, it was not Dr Finch. I read that Dr Finch was good but he left. If anybody can advise if this clinic is worth the $250 a month for a person in severe pain since 2004, but has trouble documenting any hard proof of what is causing my pain after tons of tests. Indications are an old operation is the source of the pain, but no tests can locate the reason. My doctor believed me and trusted me for years, he just thought it was a good idea for me to try a pain clinic as the hard opiates he prescribed me became ineffective after a few years.

I seek advise from current or previous patients or workers. I am due for my second visit soon, and $250 is a lot of money to pay unless I have faith something may be done to help stop or control this gut wrenching pain which has wrecked my life. One patient posted that 100 patients were upset when Dr Finch left and the clinic may go out of business due to their new doctor, of whom I believe was the doctor I seen on his first day (maybe). Please advise if you can relate to such a problem, I am sooo tired of this never ending pain.

Thank You, God Bless, Peace too.

Fyi they have been in Winchester for over ten yrs. Its not their fault that pillheads lie and scheme and study what to say in order to trick them. They are trying to help ppl and thry keep extensive documentation.

Why is it that the Lexington Pain Clinic and the Winchester Pain have the same phone number but a different address.
Just asking, no criticism, we only have one judge and that is God.

you can blame the Doctors, and Nurses, but the blame is the person who don't need the pills. There are truely people in pain everyday, severe pain, that is what the place is for. Every town just happen to have a lot of lying people in it. I see lots of deformed people you know has to have it. But other than that know one can control a lying pill head, and the office don't know if its true or not, if they dont give it and someone really does need it, they're asking for a law suit. Besides, its really SAD , but no one told them to take that many pill. Take them untill your healed, then STOP!
STUPID ! there are instructions on prescriptions and WARNINGS !!! THESE COULD BE ADDICTING !!! DUH !!!!

My understanding that Dr. O is no longer writting any type of oxycodone. The clinic is handing out a paper which says something to this effect. Also handing out a press release from the governer about the prescription pill problem. Not sure when this started but was going on last week. Everyone might want to check on this before spending the "nonrefundable $200" office visit cost.

Why? I'm sure they'll give those in severe pain another, non-narcotic prescription for their agony and 200 cash.

you can most definity depend on getting taken off oxycodone! they are not giving anything but morphine, lortab, methadone, etc. friend went there and was taken off 15 mg oxycodone and put on methadone and tramadol. call them he said they will tell u on the phone u longer get it.
