Autism, ADHD,SEIZURES all wrong with one child

I really like you. I, too, can remember what it was like before special education as we know it today. I am 46 years old. I had a cousin that was about two years older than me. He had a high fever when he was 18 months old. After that he had siezures, was extremely mentally retarded. My aunt and uncle kept this child at home until they couldn't. My uncle worked long hours not only in his job but raising tobacco. He had a wife and three daughters. His wife was a homemaker. They raised Jr. until he got big enough to hurt my aunt and cousins. It got to the point with Jr. that they had to tie him to a bed post to keep him from wandering off while they even did housework. At this point the decision was made to place him in a home for special needs kids. He lived there for about five years before he died of natural causes. My aunt and uncle grieved over this decision. But they knew the way my uncle worked they couldn't keep him at home. They went at least once a month to see him as the home was in lousiville and it is a four hour drive one way. My cousins today still talk about little Jr as we called him and how hard it was to see him be placed in that home.
Today it is different. There is help out there. There are respite care, special education, Daycare for the special adults etc... Little Jr didn't even attend school. It wasn't done back then.
People today with special needs kids have it a lot easier than thier grandparents. True it isn't easy even today.

I agree she is trolling for negative attention. The story is true. She has been posting on other forums for a couple years. Corbin and London, I think. Most threads are gone now, not because of her but the awful things she said about the childs father, now deceased. He passed away in another state. I believe his family has taken her to court or at least threatened to.

If you were constantly drove crazy by your child that can't control his actions and everyone around you wouldn't leave you alone, were would that leave you, it can't take you from feeling normal to feeling if you don't get away it's going to consume you, everything is always about your childs behavior it's never about a peaceful walk in a park, cause their is never any peace, things that you take for granted I never could enjoy. A simple visit to a store would leave my face blood red for my child screaming and going crazy for "toys toys toys" and everyone staring and giving me looks, as if they wouldn't come out if they had a child like that.

nobodies taking me to court for anything why would anybody anyway, I'm not no criminal, Ive never been to jail for anything.

no I don't spell words on purpose I have a learning disability,I have problems learning at a normal level, I can learn it just takes me longer than others, so don't make fun of me.Why are you making fun of someone who's learning handicap.

I'm not looking for fun I'm looking for people that have been there and been through what Ive been through. I could care less about people who don't understand or could care less.

If you want someone to be nice and relate to you, why are you responding to only the negative comments. Go back and read from the beginning of this thread. When people try to be supportive you ignore them.
