<quoted text>Well I don't know how those brilliant board members even got degrees! It's far from an uneducated statement! Clark Co. school system is very far behind, especially compared to Fayette Co.!I hope sometime soon, I'l be able to get my own children out as well! The sooner the better. Maybe if they focused less on things like a stupid dress code, thses kids could actually learn something! But it's hard to fire teachers, almost impossible. Which is wrong, because there are more poor teachers here than helpful ones!
You need to slow down on the exclamation marks, calm down, and concentrate on moving out of Clark County. But please don't come here hating superintendents and teachers; it's a terrible example for the students.

It's kind of hard to believe they have a college degree when they type like a fourth grader. I was thinking it was some kind of sarcastic trolling.

I'm very calm. I'm also concentrating & focusing on moving. It's not that I "hate" anyone. Never said that! And don't hold any personal grudges or anything. As far as my punctuation, it's simply 2 get a point across, & this is topix! lol I envy the fact that students in Fayette Co. have a much better education. I want that 4 my kids because I care, & feel like they are extremely being shorted in life. Mrs. Farris is a part of that. Everyone also knows that there are great & horrible teachers, like in any profession. It seems there are more terrible teachers here that just don't care, compared to great ones. However, since Lex is so far ahead of us, then why would the parents want her working there? She simply couldn't the job..so we were stuck with her.

Because of her education and qualifications. You can only be as good an administrator as you are allowed to be, with the population you're given. Clark County has a long history of education failure; it didn't just start with Dr. Farris. It also held the record for teenage pregnancies for years and experienced a very high dropout rate. When you're dealing with a population of children from young, uneducated, impoverished families, often they fail - and so does the school system. One superintendent after another will fail with the amount of opposition and lack of family support that Dr. Farris and those preceding her have. One person doesn't destroy an entire school system, but a community certainly can.
You'll get another one (if her widely publicized experience doesn't prevent decent applicants). Until Clark County turns its culture around, no administrator will "save" it. And until small groups stop harrassing half the administration, staff and board, no sensible administrator will want it.
Good luck with your move.

Has her lawsuit been dropped? Either way, this is probably far from over.

I just read that the Columbia's are counter suing Dr.Farris. Does the timing of her retirement have anything to do with this? All ignorant answers are welcomed as well as legitimate. Thanks!

Bout time she stepped down! Makes you wonder if she had gotten the job in Lexington if she would have been "retiring" now.

That was not an actual question; that was a rhetorical question...a figure of speech in a form of a question that is asked in order to make a point and without the expectation of a reply....

My facts are together. Per capita, Winchester is far ahead of Lexington in crime. We're ahead in education because we don't play politics and petty grudges against every administrator who is hired, and actually have our children's welfare in mind rather than settling trivial scores. I do, however, admire your inflated opinion of yourself lol.
I wouldn't get tremendously concerned with wasting space on Topix.
Where are your facts located? I can't seem to find anything that suggest Winchester is far ahead of Lexington in crime.

When Elaine wins her lawsuit against the Columbias and Joan Graves she will never see a dime of any type of compensation since they are all three broke. I am just glad Columbia is no longer the football coach at GRCHS.
