I have been trying so hard to find a doctor who will provide me with Norco's 10 mg, Oxycodone30 IR, and Xanax, and it's like impossible. I had a wonderful Dr.(my opinion) who was providing me these and then the DEA shut him down. All because of SOME people misusing. I can't find a doctor anywhere. I have gone from one doctor to the next to only be told they don't give pills only shots (not an option), or try some kind of therapy/counseling (don't need), some sarcastic Dr.'s even told me take Tylenol/ Ibuprofen (as if I already haven't) DON"T WORK! I am an RN I know all about these so called alternatives. The problems is I had fractured my upper left humerus had to have surgery, and they performed a reduction "IM nail" with a 10 inch medullary rod (hammered) in from my upper shoulder down through to my elbow. I also broke my left wrist in 3 places involving both radius and ulna (styloid process). My arm just throbs to the point that I have to use a HH massager to try to help ease some of the pain. I am a RN. So, I am in great need to use my arm. I live in the LaSalle/Peru Illinois area. Does anyone know of any doctor who would prescribe me these medications? Please help I cannot seem to find any doctor who is willing to help. Just because some abused the drugs don¬ít mean. email [email protected] THanks

what the hell wrote:
I have been prescribed pain pills for actual needs more times than I can count. I have ALWAYS refused the prescription for them. My doctors always look at me dumb founded ( I wonder why??lol)
I have suffered through so much pain and never taken anything more than a Tylenol. I have my medical records to prove it. Just the source of pain ..cant prove the actual pain.
Even the people that dont sale or abuse drugs should really rethink taking them...how is it helping you in the long run? I think only patients with cancer or some serious problem should take these medicines..not just because you have a broken hand.
A few years a go I worked as a cashier on a broken foot standing up 8 hours a day with no pain meds or anything. I worked the day after breaking my foot. Stop complaining and get over it. You all may think im old but Im 23 yrs old. I have never taken any medicine stronger than a Tylenol.
While I applaud your grit, I must take issue with your line of reasoning that if you can do it, everyone/anyone else can and should. Everyone experiences pain differently; pain is impossible to quantify. Even making comparisons is shaky ground. Furthermore, noone should be required, or even coerced, to endure intense and/or chronic pain if it is detracting from their quality of life. The benefit of not using pain medication doesn't always outweigh the cost. Chronic pain, left unmanaged, can lead to severe depression. This is not opinion, but established medical truth.
It has been my experience that the attitude you seem to have concerning this is most likely motivated by one of two things: a slightly masochistic and overly 'macho' idea that 'toughing it out' is somehow a morally superior space to inhabit; or, a typically puritanical idea that suffering somehow enriches ones life. Either way, get over yourself. You are in no more position to judge another person and their life, pain, needs, etc than anyone else.
So, in closing, if you choose to live with pain without the aid of legitamate and safe management, so be it. But please do the rest of the species a favor and don't wear it on your chest like it's a badge of honor deserving emulation.
Thank you.

There is no way you can find better than Dr.Asher as a doctor or human being. I am offended that anyone would put down his good name. I have gone to him for years and if it was not for him I would not of made it through six years of chronic pain that Dr.Heilig caused during a messed up operation where he lied to me that everything was healing correctly with my hip. During the time I was on pain medicine Dr.Asher did run drug testing on me.

You have to ask for a referral for cortisone shots. If when you get there on your first visit and they think he needs pain meds they will give them to him. They do casper here and pill counts you have 45 minutes to be in the office with the correct amount of pill no excuse is accepted. In short don't ask for a pain dr ask for a referral for the shots and that is where they will send you.
