Ok first off was the farm there before you were? Second do you not eat pork or drink any dairy products? Why do you feel you and your big ol lawyers have the rights to try and put people out a job cause you don't like something. I sure bet none of you would like someone messing with your lively hood now would you! If you want to work on a good cause try to take drugs off the street or make sure child molesters off the streets and away from kids, try working for something worth while.

All Me you need to get some facts on the pig barns, before you open your mouth...First there is no one in there right mind that would build a house or anything else, if a pig factory was already there. You also need to spend some time down wind from one of these pig factorys...you might decide that your air quality needs improvement. These barns moved in on people in Randolph County like flies on hunny. And for the employment, if your not mexican you are probably not working there anyway.

People that do NOT live in Randolph County should really keep there opinions to themselves, esp city folks. They have NO idea have bad it is here. Not just the pig smell but the milk cow bubbles ready to pop any day. Do some research then voice YOUR opinion to everyone that lives here...in RANDOLPH COUNTY!!

I have been in Lynn for almost 17 years and am moving, because it totally smells like shit now!
And I did not have to do research to figure that out! Anyone with a sense of smell will probably let the pig farmers have Lynn now!

Yes it does smell like shit 99% of the time. Bad thing is these farmers will be the ones with the lose in the end. When these big company's pull out in about 5 to 7 years, they will be left holding the bag.

Actually I do work for the Hog Company, live in Lynn and am not Mexican. In fact ALL of my coworkers are born and raised, red blooded Americans many of which also live in Randolph County. Our employer pays a decent wage, well above minimum wage, offers medical insurance, 401K's, and profit sharing options. So maybe it is some of YOU that need more education before you start running your mouth. Further more, I am proud to live in Lynn, I am proud to live in rural Randolph County and I probably smell manure 10 or 15 days out of the entire year, usually only when they are hauling manure. If you want to live in a farming community, then guess what, livestock farms smell like livestock. If you don't like it move to Indy where you can smell factory's, hear gunshots, and deal with Mexicans daily.

The hog barns have brought tax revenue to the county and Indiana and jobs to our region directly and indirectly.

This is America, we speak english, eat meat, and drink milk. If you don't like move somewhere else.

Come On you are full of shit!!!! If you work in one of those hog factories, and no they are not barns they are factories. On down the road you will probably have many health problems. And will it be worth it. I was raised on a farm with animals and it never smelled as bad as Lynn does these days. Also check your facts on tax revenue....

When the milk cow factory moved in and the pigs were to follow, the hand writing was on the wall. Commissioners couldn't even agree. Left Randolph County with their cow/pig factories and courthouse.

I would like everybody that supports the CAFOs to come live on the ground they are built on or even next to them. I have been in my home for over 20 years. I was here long before the hog barns was here. How would you like to have your entire life invested in your home and property and have some one come and just take it away from you. That is exactly what is happening. You not only lose the value of your property you lose your lively hood. You no longer can have your windows open and enjoy fresh air. If you do you clothes, your carpet your curtains and furniture absorbs the smell. You can't set in your yard and enjoy the outdoors for the smell. Try inviting family or friends over for a cook out, not anymore. In the summer I love to hang my clean wash on the line to dry. Not anymore. How would you like to go to bed and smell hog sh*t. How about your water wells. You know in the country we have wells, not city purified water. And the you have the ground pollution and the streams and rivers. How about the big fish kill. The very farmer that killed thousands of fish has just been approved for 2 new permits to build to more houses larger than the ones he already has. The thing is, those 2 new houses will be built on the same farm. He will have 6 houses on 12 acres of bare ground right next to same creek the fish were killed in. These hog houses are are 1/4 of a mile from 20 houses. The kicker is he doesn't even live in Indiana. He is from Ohio. The only thing this man pays is property tax. All his employees are from Ohio, wages goes back there right along with the income he makes. Now tell me what Randolph County is gaining but property taxes. They would get the same amount if somebody would plant corn. Yes I'm mad as H*ll. I would like to see a law that says if you build one on these d*mn things you had to live on the very property they are built on. Let them smell their own sh*t right along with the rest of us.

what we have is big city folks retiring in the country thinking they found a low priced real estate because they were used to paying big payments to live in the city they come here get a whiff of country life from the neighbors then start whining .these big farms are cleaner and smell less then the old fashioned farms that were in style 50 years ago id rather smell hog farms or cattle then the big city diesal and gas fumes and factorys any day . Always some big city hippie tree hugging group making there own stink which is worse then any cows smell and no i have a job elsewhere and im not mexicain

you are right its always the vocal few who stir the pot . noone made a fuss when the ethanol plant came in yet they smell and ruin the roads with there big trucks . best way runs up and down the county roads too but yet they are always yelling about the pig farms and dairy farms blaming them for all the worlds ills . how much stink do we get from the sewer plant ? the turkey and chicken farms ? the livestock ranches out west feed lots and such . factorys like anchor or the mold shops in order to feed this country you need bigger farms then the home style farm . everything has a smell and people who think they can make us all eat vegatables are wacky .i go to lynn alot i drive by the dairy and its all hate from the neighbors who make up the stink not the farmers im impressed how clean they all are
