If you live in Tierra Shores and you are smelling odors especially in the evening that are bothering you please do what the Air Quality Management District is directing us to- report it, while it happens daily and even put the report phone number on speed dial or the online reporting on your favorites in your computer… they are going to investigate this and help get us clean air. Don’t just give up, this is an obvious problem that you should not have to live in or accept, join and become a strong force of daily reporting that draws intense attention. This is a quote from them,“if a public nuisance is suspected, an immediate investigation of the alleged source may be necessary.” We are a public all together reporting a nuisance, so go for it and use your power!
I WAS TOLD IF THREE OF US CALL IN ONE NIGHT OR AT THE TIME WE SMELL IT THEY COME THAT NIGHT, MORE OF US NEED TO CALL AND COMPLAIN SO WE CAN HELP
THEY WILL ENFORCE HEALTH CODES AND VIOLATIONS TO WHO IS CAUSING THIS NASTY SMELL
(All below are quotes from the Air Quality Management District Website )
Describe the air quality problem
If you smell a strong odor in your neighborhood, think of ways to describe the emissions and try to identify their source. For example, try to describe if it smells like rotten eggs, spoiled cabbage, burned plastic, ammonia, chlorine, garlic, asphalt, or some other familiar material.
Report the problem to 1-800-CUT-SMOG (1-800-288-7664) or through the On-line Complaint System
fight hard and this will get better!

Well, I have lived here for over 5 yrs. The smell is coming from the cow farm. When I bought this house I KNEW there was a cow farm. You can see it from all directions. They smell sometimes and that's the way it is. You should have never bought here if it bothers you. I don't like it either but it is not all the time and I will be NO part of making trouble for this cow farm since he was here long before me or this entire Tierra Shores.

I don't think it is the cows fyi just so you are aware there is another large facility treating tons of human waste with hydrogen sulfer that tends to result in evening odors that smell different than the dairy and can be unhealthy for us.

Check your mail and follow what the air quality management district directs you to do. They are currently working diligently and know that they have an issue here. They need us to provide detailed calls to them with times and types of smells. They know that we live by agriculture but also are exposed to RV parks that treat tons of human waste and use chemicals. Please follow their directions so that they can ensure our peace and safety. Animal smell is fine, chemical waste not so fine. Even if the levels turn our safe the fact that our tract is getting this odor even in their homes is called a nuisance and is not acceptable according to them. Thanks for your support please call in strange odors that do not seem like animal odors.

I want to bring attention to the many health risks of living in Tierra Shores. I myself have over $40,000.00 in medical bills due to illness related to many environmental agents and toxins present in industrial waste such as leakage from Wilderness Lakes septic tanks, a live stock dairy farm (4,000 cows), A chicken farm (1 million) and nearby crops that lay sludge toxins and Tierra shores is downwind from all these toxins. Neither the Septic leakage nor chicken farms were disclosed at any time or in any portion of my buyer’s contract. Many former home owners of Tierra Shores have moved due to illness even death in their family. People are dying from Tierra shores I know of 3 in the past year many others are very ill anything from liver failure , heart, gastro intestinal disease, allergies, asthma, Thyroid disease, anxiety and other symptoms of living near a live stock farms. I have never seen so many people sick or die in one neighborhood this scares me. These farms pollute the air in many ways, emitting foul odors, airborne particles, greenhouse gases, and numerous toxic chemicals like Hydrogen sulfide, methane, ammonia, and carbon dioxide are the major hazardous gases produced by decomposing manure. Check out this website. AND THAN RUN FROM THIS PLACE http://www.sustainabletable.org/issues/airpol...
I find so much information when I Google living near live stock farms. This Place is a health hazard and someone needs to do something.
* Animals generate waste. While many traditional crops and livestock operations use manure as a fertilizer.
*People who live near or work at factory farms breathe in hundreds of gases.
*The researchers, from Utrecht University, measured increased levels of particulate matter containing microbes and microbial toxins near livestock farms.
*Pollution from Livestock Farms Threatens Public Health
