It's a true shame that they didn't know enough to not drink and drive. There is a speed limit for a reason and signs to tell you a turn is coming. There lucky they didn't kill anyone else because of there carelessness. It's people like that shouldn't have a license. Shame on them. There should be better laws and restrictions so these reckless kids can't get a license.
For all the young careless drivers who drink and drive, and speed, you are too immature to have a license. If I ever get hit by one of you arrogant kids you will never see you're license again.I will sue you for everything and you'll never get car INS again.
Grow up and drive safe. How would you feel if it was you're family that died because of carelessness?

Wow!! Your ignorance and insensitivity is unbelievable! Yes we all know that drinking and driving do not mix but it is not just the young licensed drivers. It also is the Experienced, Older drivers that certainly should know better. It's just a shame that ALL drivers of ALL ages don't take this issue more seriously... DON'T Drink and Drive.

It sucks for the surviving relatives of both kids but they will not do it again. Trees don't move. That is a posted speed limit area if I remember right with 35 or 40MPH signs. From the look of the vehicle they were going well over the limit.

To the Kovach & McCollum families, I feel your loss deeply. I too lost a son in a wreck that didn't need to happen. Gasport is a small place and the death of 2 of it's residents hits everyone because we care.

I can't believe this happened. Cal was a great kid, and his mom's only child...her everything! He was very loved. I'm praying for the insensitive comments to stop, and the healing to begin for the pain the family is having to endure. So, so sorry Kathy & Dale.

If drinking wasnt involved then the driver was just stupid and blind and not paying attention to does limit signs. But guaranteed drinking was a factor.we'll see. Everyone who's smart knows to obey traffic signs. Have some respect for other drivers who know how to pay attention.

Yes two lives are gone but it's the drivers fault. Shouldn't have been speeding. He was reckless and careless.should have paid attention to traffic signs. How would you feel if one of your family members just happened to be traveling in that direction and they were killed as well. You'd sing a different tune then. My comments aren't ignorant or insensitive. When there are other drivers, responsible drivers, we don't want irresponsible people that hurting innocent people who know how to drive in an appropriate manner.

Please respect the families of these two boys. The news never tells the complete story and comments without knowledge are very hurtful. I just lost my nephew in a bike accident and we will probably never know why and how it happened. I have a son and trust me as you all know that boys do some dumb things especially when with their friends. I encourage all parents to talk to their kids about life choices and talk to them over and over. Honestly it's never enough to show you care.

No, not all boys do dumb things, all my boys are grown and responsible. I brought them up to follow directions and obey all traffic signs. They know right from wrong.the people who show off and act childish shouldn't have a license. driving is a privilege not to play games and fool around speeding. by the looks of the scene and the truck being mangled, yes he was speeding. I feel for the family but I have no respect for careless drivers.

I agree with, a responsible driver. Not all boys are dumb and act stupid with there friends. I have 3 boys and 1, all from 18 to 27. None of them have ever had accidents or tickets.they are all responsible and respect my wishes.I made them go to driving school and wait until they were 18. It is uncalled for that anyone behind the wheel acting like an idiot. This is why there are speed limits. Everyone keeps telling,a responsible driver, to stop being insensitive and start to care, that's bull shit. This person is concerned for others safety and their own.as am I. So everyone please pay attention.things happen so fast. The next accident could be one of your loved ones.talk to you're children.let them know of the dangers.and for you adults that don't pay attention, better start cause you should know better. Sorry to the family

God bless the families of these two boys. And to Mister high and mighty "a responsible driver", I sincerly hope something like this never happens to someone you love. While your comments are not wrong, they ARE horribly insensitive. And, I GUARANTEE you that your "perfect" boys have done things that they have gone to great lengths to hide from you. The other parents are probably laughing behind your ignorant back. No one can break your heart like your own child can, just sayin'.

First off, I'm a mother of all boys. Secondly, where do people get of thinking my boys sneak behind my back? I raised my boys the proper way. Maybe you others just have different techniques that make your kids go behind your back. Mine don't. I Think it is so funny that people defend a bunch of young kids that can't follow simple road signs and directions then end up dead. excuse me for being a little pissed off for the people who make it hard for good drivers. My comments may seen insensitive, but all I have said are facts. no one should have to be afraid to drive because they think some irresponsible ass isn't driving responsibly. I'm not the only one who feels this way. I just have the guts to say something. good luck to all you people who defend the reckless drivers just because you know them or the family. bet you
Wouldn't be defending anyone if they killed someone you love.

I don't know these boys or their families. I just know that NOBODY is perfect. You are self rightous, you lack compassion and you have your head in the sand. So glad you and your family are perfect, and again, I hope nothing like this ever happens to you because Karma is a bitch lady.
