Maybe one of the instructors is good...but overall the efforts of the "staff" is to try to upsell you, get you locked into a long contract, then start hitting you up for graduation class fees where you graduate to the next belt when you pay your $$ not when you are necessarily ready...very lame. Then they push you to take private lessons or join leadership teams, or tell you that your kid needs to move up to another group - all more $$. Beware..dont sign up...don't commit til you have been in classes for a while, you will thank me one day. Better yet, find another instructor...We have a dispute with this company and the owner ignores emails, calls, certified letters...and was reported to the BBB who reported that he was unresponsive...

Both ATA Martial Arts and Senior Master Leitzke are great individuals. There are 7 ATA schools in North Carolina that are Instruction (instructor-student)of Senior Master Leitzke in Wilmington. All ATA schools have an acceptance to higher curriculum training for those who meet the requirements and are accepted into the program. This is an honor and yes its a $10-$25 more a month. But thats the choice of the student/parent. As for the BBB, D- is for lack of response and he should respond so that the ATA's good name continues so. Not every client of the ATA will agree with a school owner and on very few occasions make threats which prevent communication.

Laurence's review could not be more off the mark. My daughter takes classes with Senior Master and he is extremely professional and ethical. My daughter loves this academy, Senior Master and his staff. Quality instruction by a very caring staff- we are thrilled to be a part of this school.

I know this person and he and his wife appeared to be very negative and cynical people. They never seemed happy and had frowns on their faces as they sat with the rest of the parents in the viewing area. We have never felt pressured to do anything we or our daughter did not want to do so I don't know where he is coming from with his comments.

Trying to unfairly slam a business or individual is wrong and unethical- it seems to me that Laurence needs to do some major introspection. Besides I strongly believe that Laurence's problem is more that he was upset that he couldn't afford the program so he took it out on Senior Master (via the grumblings from he and his wife). Laurence, maybe you need to tend to your finances and family instead of attacking others who are successful.

This academy teaches Life Skills such as courtesy, respect, honor, integrity and confidence. Senior Master and his staff embodies these principles. The classes are motivating and are taught using positive reinforcement. Our daughter has gained so much confidence since taking classes from Senior Master. Her grades have improved, she is happier and her teachers have commented on her improved self confidence.

This martial academy is of the highest caliber and quality and is a reflection of the leadership of Senior Master Leitzke.

I have not had the misfortune of knowing Laurence, but I completely agree with Anne. Trying to unfairly discredit Senior Master Leitzke and the exceptional staff at Confidence Martial Arts is appalling. My grandson (7 yrs old) started in January 2012 and the change in him after only 5 months is unbelievable. His self-confidence, self-discipline and self-respect has not just changed the child in many positive ways, but has changed the way his schoolmates perceive him. It is as if he grew up a few years in just a few months. The system teaches our children to be better in all aspects of life, not just how to protect themselves. I have observed all the children transforming from month to month. The Confidence training is a step/reward system where each next step is very obtainable for all children and publically rewarded. Respect, obedience, and attitude are forefront in the training. The system rewards for positive behavior at home, school and in martial arts. They even offer instructor & leadership courses in addition to the basic program and the cost is similar to normal child care.
