I just heard a guy on news compare cigarettes to gun ownership. He mentioned the laws that were changed pertaining to tobacco products. WT# was he talking about?

Good luck to you. You could just buy a small island somewhere and reclude because I can not imagine that the billionaires and millionaires in Singapore will want anything to do with a person of your background and a foreigner.

When NJ governor Christie was complimentary to Obama, and Obama beat their little twitt, the pubs decided to punish Christie and NJ. More frat boy antics by congressmen who are supposed to be grown up.

Arnold, just maybe the citizens of the U.S. are fed up with "pork of the past" because many people don't have two nickels to rub together anymore and they're finally deciding to learn from the "past". Why this one, well you've heard the old saying "you gotta start somewhere/sometime", IMO, the where and the time are here. NASCAR, the Smithsonian, Amtrak (not in the area hit by the hurricane) and fisheries in Alaska are not victims of a natural disaster, thus they shouldn't receive money. Do you not agree?
If YOUR home and YOUR business were destroyed, you wouldn't give a shit about the pork. You would be screaming to holy hell if the government didn't help you. You really don't care about the Sandy victims because it doesn't directly effect you. You're sounding more and more like Silver. No empathy for the needs and plight of others is what you are really displaying.

But that will be good for him. For once in his life, Silver will see 'the other side of the wall' as an outsider. He may even develop some empathy for others as a result. Naw! I was dreaming for a moment there, wasn't I?

Obama Admin Defended Agents Putting Gun To Little Girl’s Head.
While acting as if they are holier than the rest of us when it comes to gun control, the Obama administration defended agents of the Drug Enforcement Agency’s use of force against the 11-year-old and 14-year-old daughters of Thomas and Rosalie Avina. The “excessive” force included putting a gun to the youngest girl’s head. Attorney’s for the Obama administration defended the actions of the agents arguing that “the DEA agents’ conduct was plainly reasonable under the circumstances. All hail Obama, Lead of the United Socialist Authority.

And the conservative right like to call Pelosi a wack job when Boehner shows such obvious signs of emotional instability. When you can't control your own emotions, what does that say? I don't mind seeing someone cry with a purpose, but this man cries at the drop of a hat on ANYTHING. Strange man without a doubt. He is perfect for the out of touch Republicans. Just imgagine what Fox News and Rush would say about this behavior if he were a Democrat! They would be merciless, but being a Republican, they never mention it.

So Sandy victims should be denied federal help when other regions got needed relief after their own natural disasters? Why?

No, they should not be denied help, NASCAR,etc should be denied "pork". THAT is the point AZ, I believe earlier today Bacon said " you gotta start somewhere" right? She did not say don't help.

Arnold Bacons point is this: Both parties play the"pork"game.I will say this, if those"Tea Party"guys had represented a state damaged by a natural disaster, I think their votes would have been different.

Don't tell me what I would do and wouldn't. We were hit by hurricane Hugo that in addition to being a hurricane spawned small tornadoes where I live. We went over two weeks without the first sign of a power company or any kind of help. It was everyone helping themselves and then helping their neighbors. I didn't scream to holy hell, I called my insurance company which because of all the claims took a while, put a tarp over the roof that caved in from falling trees and flying debris, taped up the windows that were broken and blown out and sat with a toddler day in and day out. We were fortunate to have generators and one stayed at home and my husband took the other to work with him, so he could make money for our business that was destroyed. Eventually, some guys from the federal government did come to see our damage and were more concerned about the damn trees that had been blown down than the fact my ass was sitting in a house that was a hot mess. Cry me a river Arnold, just as you do for the Sandy victims. I didn't get squat from the government, but I'm not so empathetic that I can't feel what they're going thru, but it doesn't change my mind on helping them versus "giving" away money for "perks" that have nothing to do with their situation.

What you're displaying is called caving. It's no different than if you were to go get a $50 withdrawal from your bank and they said before we give you your money, you must help build a new concession stand at Charlotte Motor Speedway by giving us $100. Knowing you, you'd give them $100 to get your $50.

Yes, I certainly would make that deal, if it was to help the suffering of many people, particularly children, who were displaced from the aftrmath of the storm. You're rationale still sounds like Silver. You should be proud of yourself. Not really caring unless it is "me" or "mine", then the 'pork" of the deal is a distant secondary concern. You've already shown that. The dollar is more important to you than the welfare of the people.

The welfare of the people?

"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them" - Thomas Jefferson.

Waste! That is what the Sandy Relief Bill is. If it were restricted to truly help those in need then fine but that is not the case. Politicians from both sides with their damn hands out.

As for the relief bills in the past they were a waste also. Enough is enough.
