They are both silly myths. How in this day of modern science, so many still are following such silly superstitions, is amazing.
NASA says there will be an "alignment" of planets, but not to the point of "doomsday" proportions. That's where I think it gets nuts. I hope so anyway. How they know that I don't know, but it's another topic to spin I guess.

Of course, if the world ends it will be Obama's fault. It always is. The tv coverage will be wonderful.

Is Barack Obama the reincarnation of Karl Marx? His acts make him a hybrid version of an opportunistic fascism and communism. Interesting, but lethal. Barack Obama’s famous line about fundamentally transforming the United States of America means there is no longer a United States of America. He is transforming it in to the United Socialist Authority. Barack Obama is a red diaper grand-baby and was groomed from the very beginning to implement Communism with every lying fiber of his being. Marxists in America are now driving the public school system; teaching to make Christian Holidays taboo, but the Federal government is promoted as the savior of all. This is so children don’t feel obligated to think they have to support themselves but look to the government to take care them. Karl Marx, aka Barack Obama pretending to be Santa Claus, is in the White House wearing a red diaper.
This is precisely the rhetoric that was responsible for Romney's loss.

How does one get to be president of the USA? Answer: He has to get a majority of the votes. So Romney insults half of the voters before the election and thinks he will get elected? Romney is too stupid to be president.

Who knows, when one cries wolf once, one tend to think he does it often.
You see, we need no commandment from a god to teach us lying is bad.
We can understand it is wrong because of its effects.
Pretending you are someone else is a form of lying.
Humans use personal names for a reason. Evidently you do not understand those reasons.

So because your phrase was from a song, it is not of your opinion to be true? You did not state this, so why should I assume it? If you cannot stand by your statements, maybe you should not make them.

Wishing does not make it so.
Many of the religious beliefs of man are of his wishful thinking.
Heaven is an obvious one. Hell is a bit less obvious.
I note what the religious often say of atheists. They claim we have no ultimate justice. As in, the ones who are not punished on earth, get away with their crimes. Thus they have hell, to fulfill the ultimate justice they wish for.
This wishful thinking of a hell is quite barbaric if you consider the torture of eternity for a crime of any sort.
In America, we see it as unjust to torture a person for a crime, so why would we think it 'just' to do so after death?

The concepts of the bible and other holy books are often unjust. Thus proving their is no 'just' god.

It does not look as if their is anything interesting to discuss in politics this week, so why not discuss some religion?
