Wilmington board extends Caira's pact

8% raise!!!!...Wow, let see if he is as generous with the rest of the town departments who are working without contracts!

As a Wilmington taxpayer, I have not had a raise since 2007 and have seen my health insurance contribution triple in the same time period. Yet the selectmen must think my wallet and those of the rest of the towns taxpayers are bottomless pits. I agree that Mr. Caira has done an excellent job, but like the rest of us he must do more for less. Our teachers, fire fighters, police officers, DPW workers always do excellent work as I am sure most of the taxpayers do. But none of us is seeing anything close to an 8% increase.

So, Caira wants the Unions to take a 0% the first year. The DPW got 0%,2.5%,and 2.5%. Yes Cryra got the 0% the first year, but 8% over the next 2?? He cried and belly ached that these are hard fiscal times etc etc. Then he gets a higher raise, on a higher salary then what he offers to his employees. Lou, seriously grow a set and vote. I guess this will be the first time in a long while we don't see your kiss a$$ face in the paper. Newhouse,Lepore, and Champoux, its getting very tight in that back pocket you share.
