i think that school uniforms are so uncool! they take away your personality! yeah you can express yourself. but its only in like jewelry or headbands. you really can't do anything. if you wear hoops, some schools don't allow it. like that's you expressing yourself. and the shoes the make you wear at some schools,THEY SUCK! LIKE WHO WANTS TO WEAR THOSE UGLY SHOES?LIKE IF YOU LIKE THOSE,SOMETHING IS SERIOUSLY WRONG W/ YOU!i prefer to wear chucks or uggs or flats. something like that. PLUS... if your kid gets jumped, how are you going to describe the the attacker? yellow collared shirt-black shoes-black pants.... you get what I'm saying, right?

School uniforms are bad!! In Canada, there is a charter,(I think) about freedom of expression! So it's illegal in Canada for schools to force students to wear uniforms!! Also, most uniforms are manufactored for one body type! Which is bad...

Uniforms are crap. They take away student creativity. There a waist of money and time. People who *love* or like uniforms are dumbasses. Look at your children do they like the idea of uniforms. They should be able to choose for themselves. If a student is poor or something then they should be the ones buying uniforms. Who wants to waist there time cleaning uniforms. Plus the water bill is there. P.s I don't want any replies

. There would be no way to describe the attacker. Because everyone will look the same

My kid went from a public school with lots of bullies to a christian school with uniforms ,It was good,it makes for better discipline and structure, less behavior problems .You are entitled to express yourself as soon as you walk outside that door, but while you are in there you are to conform in conduct and dress, not be a distraction because your clothes are designer and my kid wears Wal-Mart.

Its funny how kids that have to wear uniforms say we need to be individuals, its not good we all look the same,we are not able to express ourself BUT they will shop for the same thing, if one doesn't have the same thing as their friends they will go get it, they all want the same brand shoes, wear the same earrings, have the same Ipods, cellphone cover, hair styles and on and on. Yet uniforms keep them from expressing themselves. LOL

What the hell, if I want to buy my children good looking clothes, if my children works all summer to buy the clothes they want, as long as they worn correctly they should be able to were them to school. The problem is that there is too much emphasis on what is being worn, and not enough put on TEACHING the children. I hate to say it, but I think it would cost families less if there were no uniform reqirements, especially if the family had three or four school aged children.

It seems to me if it's about education why then should it matter what in the hell you where to school. I just resenting visited the Bahamas , and those children are very educated and hard working
I'm almost positive that they appreciate uniforms , coming from a country where eduction is very important. Children in America are spoiled and I think they challenge adults to much . I wish we can put their spoiled little asses in another country to see how hard kids have it over there and I promise you that school uniforms would be the last thing on their mind. I'm willing to bet that these little grown ass girls probably want to were something that riding all up their tail showing all their crouch . Stay in a child's place and learn the facts , teen pregnancy has dropped 63% in the past 2 years since they passed the uniform rule, keep your mind on those book and not on Baby Phat and BEBE and I promise you will get the education you need and the preparation you will get for the real word, hate to tell you that the real world is cruel, cry one time about wearing a uniform on these people out here jobs, AND YOUR ASSES ARE FIRED, COMMUNIST THAT CRY BABIES!!!!!!!!!!
Ass! You try making friends with the same interests when you look like a piece of shit!

I just moved to Chatham county about a month ago. I've never had to wear uniforms until I moved here and it is such a stress every morning to figure out what to wear that's compliant with the dress code. The other day the vice principal came into my classroom while we were taking a test (AP class) and interrupted everyone to check if students were in uniform. I feel like schools here are more worried about you not being in dress code than if you were misbehaving. If they were trying to make everyone seen as equal, why is it just a strict dress code than everyone having to buy the same exact clothes? My mother has had to spend a fortune on uniforms and I still don't have many clothes I am able to wear to school. I just want to be able to do well in school and get to college but i can't do that when administration pulls me out of class for not having fully compliant clothes. This has caused so much anxiety for me since this is my first year at a new school and I get approached every day about my clothes even though I am trying my best with my mother's budget. Get rid of them today.
