I grew up in the 1400 block of East 55th street, the first block east of Edgemere, in the 1960's.

Edgemere was also a low-income neighborhood in those days.

However, crime was virtually non-existent.

Why? Because the duplexes were all inhabited by poor but decent, hard working, law abiding WHITE FOLKS.

It's just that simple.
