Mis-Utilization

Deerfield, IL

Well, let's see, the Village already has FIVE gas stations, three tire stores, a mattress store, two expensive Italian restaurants [in locations where the prior retailers were both restaurants - and failed], a Whole-Paycheck designer food store, a dead shopping center on the s/w corner of Waukegan and Lake Cook Road, a dead shopping center on the n/e corner of Waukegan and Lake Cook Road, a dead piece of land [ever see ANYONE use the park at the n/e corner of Waukegan and Deefield Road], a dead piece of land at the s/w corner of Waukegan and Deerfield Roads - that USED TO BE a focal point in the Village, before the brilliant decision to make it into a planter on steroids, etc, etc.
No,'sorry, what might go into a tiny, over-priced retail-space is hardly worth discussion. What IS worthy of discourse is the overall appearance, under-utilization, non-pedestrian-friendly and wholly... mediocre appearance of Deerfield.
Parking lots, gas stations, tire stores, a matress store, pop-up seasonal stores [in otherwise dead retail spaces], etc, etc; there are some serious issues to be addressed in Deerfield!
